I knew Kirk from some film classes we took together. He was a good guy and always upbeat. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing.

Kirk goes before us; we rode on a beautiful route that Kirk will no longer see. As the sun set beauty surrounded us. As the sun rises, we are one. Kirk, forever young.

So noted.

At least two of Kirk's friends were there handing out flowers. Lots of cyclists were there to pay their respects.

Thank you for your post.

The San Francisco Ride Of Silence was actually NOT already planned, there was none. The ride was hastily thrown together by a concerned resident cyclist of Alamo Square, Kristin Smith, who did not know the rider.
