The “defacing” adds unintended warmth to these creepily Orwellian images. It’s astonishing to me how ignorant the designers/artists who created these images are to both irony and the history of totalitarian propaganda graphics.

The same goes for the chant-driven video clips made in praise of Chairman Obama.
