At the de Young Museum: Bouquets to Art 2009, March 17-21

Brace yourself, Bouquets to Art is coming back to Golden Gate Park for its Silver Anniversary at the de Young Museum starting Tuesday, March 17th, 2009. People journey from all over the state to see all the art-related flower arrangements. It’s going to be mega (like a smaller version of the King Tut-Mania that will start June 27, 2009), so get your tickets now.

Best of all, in the words of Homer Simpson, the bouquets at BtoA “look like the things they look like.”

As here, Oranges in Tissue Paper, 1890, William J. McCloskey rendered en flora:

See you there!

If you were ever going to attend this show, this is the year.
The Gala, with Lavay Smith & her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, together with Dan McCall
eats, is a party more than worth the price of admission, especially for the under 35 yr crowd. It’s a bargain, but it will be so worth the experience. How nice to have a grown up event, with fun, art and savoir faire. This doesn’t come along all that often, but is being made special because of the 25th anniversary celebration. Enjoy. It’s hard to know how long this will continue and it is true SF gem of a party.
