Photographer Nate Show was on the scene in Golden Gate Park Wednesday, September 16th, when an SUV driving backward collided with this cyclist (going forward, of course) ending up with the cyclist temporarily losing consciousness. At the time it looked like the bike rider was going to be all right.
You see all the black stuff the ground? That’s what’s left of the tinted rear window of this black Toyota 4Runner. (Did the cyclist create those dents on the Toyota? Wow.)

The rider and his red-and-white Colnago got hauled away to points unknown.
All the deets are here.

Here’s hoping for full recovery, then full justice.
bummer, now i wish they’d clean up the glass already. it was still there this morning…
Hey all, I’m the photographer.
I contacted SF General. They are unable to provide information on patients’ condition without their name, which is maybe the only info I didn’t get at the scene.
If anyone knows the cyclist and info as to his condition, it would be nice to hear that he’s doing well.
Please post updates here, or email to editor@sfist.com
Thanks,
Nate
I hope this cyclist has a full and speedy recovery. And as friscolex said, full justice.
I also hope the Colnago gets replaced. The cyclist’s health is clearly more important, but that was a beautiful bike.
