The Orpheum Theatre (San Francisco’s ”elaborate Spanish cathedral”) is offering a behind the scenes tour of Wicked on Saturdays and some Wednesdays starting tomorrow, October 17th, 2009 and going to January 2nd, 2010 (at the least). Get your tickets here and then, for 90 minutes, you’ll get to see what it takes to put on the show, which is proving popular to say the least:
“Winner of 26 major awards including the Grammy Award and three Tony Awards, WICKED is the untold story of the witches of Oz. Long before Dorothy drops in, two other girls meet in the Landof Oz. One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. WICKED tells the story of their remarkable odyssey, how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.”
Nicolas Dromard and Jonathan Ritter start in the V.I.P room and then take you around the place:

You’ll get to learn more about the show biz (it’s like no business you know) in the lobby and then it’s off to the theatre for a Q and A with some of the performers:
For $30, it’s a great deal for somebody who has seen, or somebody who wants to see, Wicked.
See you there!
