The Elusive Night Ravens of Golden Gate Park – Spot One and You’ll Have Good Luck the Next Day

You can spot Nycticorax nycticorax (literally “night raven,” but we call them Black Crowned Night Herons there days) in Golden Gate Park┬áif you pay attention.

They hide out in the bushes until dusk and then they start hunting, mostly for fish.

Spot one of them and you’ll have good luck until dusk the next day.
