This is your chance to become the next Big Macher of Treasure Island. All’s you have to do is shoot an email to “Gavin” (really it’s his staff, but whatever).
And then, if you’re lucky, you’ll be able show up for the Cattle Call at City Hall. Dress nice, be sure to suck up, can’t hurt.
And then, if you’re lucky, you’ll be granted a seat on the Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA) Board of Directors, along with six other souls.
That’s my overture to you, all the deets are below.

MAYOR NEWSOM INVITES INTERESTED TREASURE ISLAND RESIDENTS TO APPLY FOR TREASURE ISLAND DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
San Francisco, CA—Mayor Gavin Newsom today invited interested Treasure Island residents to apply for one seat on the Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA) Board of Directors. The candidate must be a resident of San Francisco and must live on Treasure Island.
The TIDA Board of Directors makes policy decisions critical to the future of Treasure Island, approves large contracts, approves TIDA’s annual budget, and acts as both the redevelopment agency and the trustee of the Tideland Trust for Treasure Island. All seven members are appointed by the Mayor, with certain seats approved by the Board of Supervisors.
“The entire City will benefit from the new, environmentally sustainable community planned for Treasure Island, but it’s critical that we maintain a resident’s perspective to help oversee the transformation,” said Mayor Newsom. “Calling the island home provides a unique experience and a voice for the community as we embark on a new era for Treasure Island.”
The deadline for submission of applications is November 15, 2010. Applicants interested in receiving an application should email email@example.com or call 311.
