A lot of neighbors living around the park were not thrilled. Not so much NIMBY but not well publicized so scary at first (light flashes, explosions, helicopters, etc) not to mention pet trauma. Also heard concerns about impact to park wildlife. GG Park is the nesting home to a lot of bird species, so they might have a point.

I like fireworks and the Giants, but not the best choice of venue.

The NIMBYs are out there, startled house pets, etc…

Agree about firecrackers. Lion dancers = pain for my sensitive ears. Earplugs are the way to go…

I get the SF alerts, so got the news mid-afternoon. Didn’t feel like walking 6 blocks, so just went across the street to watch & enjoy! What a great place for awesome fireworks, maybe we can have them again sometime with a little more warning? Who are the NIMBY’s who dislike fireworks shows? I’d rather have the show then the 2+ weeks of firecrakers for Chinese New Years!

They could have done a better job giving people a heads-up.

They should have opened it up and invited people, but there wasn’t the budget for that, I guess….

Sorry, but that was alot louder than soft thuds. My house was shaking! Sounded like we were being bombed.
