Appears as if there’ll be some changes coming to Golden Gate Park’s Stow Lake Boathouse – our Board of Rec and Park will vote on the matter on December 2nd, 2010, anyway.
Check out the PowerPoint and the new lease if you want.

The Boat house is the last affordable place for families to go in the Park.
To turn it into some slick restaurant and gift shop is an attack on the families with children who are still left standing in this ever growing city of the rich and famous.
We don’t have enough boats here now, and they are going to cut down on the number they will have.
Also why are we always going outside of the bay area to find people to run our city. Look at the De Young with it’s Ugly facade, odd floor plan. We have great architects here, but Oh no we had to go to some cold Nordic land to find someone to build a museum for us that is as cold and sterile as its creators.
They could have asked Andrew Skurman who was just honored for his classical design by the French—and we all know how particular they are when it comes to matters of design.
