The SFPD is Back Doing Its Pedestrian Stings, This Time at Grove and Divisadero in the NoPA – Would YOU Get a Ticket?

You know, I’d think I’d escape a ticket from the SFPD if were ever tested in one of these pedestrian right-of-way stings, the kind they just did at Grove and Divisidero the other day.

Now, this kind of deal might be a little irritating for drivers since the undercover pretend ped probably just stands there staring at them for two blocks only to start across the street right when the drivers approach, but that’s the ped’s right, that’s the ped’s right of way.

As here, on Lincoln, from a while back. This ped heading south at 17th Ave. isn’t in the marked crosswalk but I don’t think that matters, she has the right of way on unmarked crosswalks as well as marked. (For some reason, the City only marked the western side of the intersection here.)

Not looking to see if traffic in the slow lane is going to stop seems a bit reckless to me, but it’s not illegal or nothing.

“NoPA”? Seriously? Say it ain’t so! gah. The term you’re looking for is “Western Addition”

NoPA is the name of a pretentious, overpriced restaurant, not a neighborhood.

    NoPA is a little shorter.

    Would you prefer DivCo?

Ansel Adams told people he was born in the Western Addition but I’d call that place The Richmond.

Anyway, yes, it’s the Western A

  3. FYI says:

That’s 17th and Lincoln, not Fulton.

Dude you are sooo right. Two syllables, ends in “N,” takes people from FogTown to SF – i mix those streets up alla time…

    Muchas
