I ride it almost every day, it’s great. Occasionally there’s a motorist that doesn’t get it and blocks the bike lane by ARCO, but for the most part it does work.

There was some guy harping on this around 2005-2006 and then it got picked up on SFist in 2007 and the rest is history.
The big hangup, I think, was having homeowners in the area lose three onstreet parking spaces…
i went to santa barbara ARCO gas station to fill up at mission and state st and kept the pump charging me without giving me any gas here is the video to prove it. and when i tried to tell them about it they didn’t believe me and asked me to leave. http://on.fb.me/x3PMPG
