Dear Michela Alioto-Pier: Actually, Dianne Feinstein was Twice Elected Mayor of San Francisco

Uh oh, there’s a problem with candidate Michela Alioto-Pier saying she’d be “the first woman elected mayor of San Francisco.”

As David Cruise and others of the Twitterverse have pointed out:

Nothing worse than hearing lies coming out of a candidates mouth… Michela needs to stop saying #SF has never elected a woman #SFMayor.”

Indeed.

And as a matter of fact, San Francisco had a stretch of 16 years, from 1971 to 1987, when Dianne Feinstein ran for Mayor four times in a row and ended up winning twice.

MAP at the Board of Supervisors looking foxy in at least four definitions of the term – look it up:

So, yes, DiFi was appointed, but she was also elected.

Twice.

Leave us never discuss this again.

kthxbye

Dear Jim: The godawful Dianne Feinstein was not only elected twice but she has two “n”s in her first name. And Michela is a weird combination of dumb and mean, neither of which have anything to do with her gender.

Ah yes, two “n’s” in Dianne. thx!
