The distance from SF to the valley is about 70 miles round trip, which means if you can go there and back two times if you want to leave not much wiggle room for traffic, hills, etc. The shuttles where I work make 3-4 trips each morning and another set each evening, which seems to make an electric vehicle that needs more than a half hour to charge infeasible without doubling the number of buses.
