Possible Suicide This Morning on Stuart Between Market and Mission – Very Close to OccupySF Base Camp

Don’t have the details for this death on the sidewalk of Stuart just south of Don Chee Way (which is now the southern border of OccupySF these days).

Per Justin Beck:

“A guy apparently just died on Steuart near Don Chee Way. Paramedics tried CPR but then covered up the body. No other info yet.”

That’s Occupy in the background – I have no idea of the dead person’s possible relationship to OccupySF or the Hotel Vitale:

The cookhouse for OccupySF is in the lower left-hand corner, first-responder SFFD Engine 13 is in the lower right, and “Spa Vitale” is on top:

This is very sad. The man who died was not a part of the occupy movement, but perhaps he should have been. He is a victim of this horrible economy as well as the nasty professional environment in San Francisco. His name was Tom. He was a former CFO of TCHO chocolate and after being fired, humiliated and the black balled by Jane Metcalf and Eric McDougall (current “minister of cool” at Zynga)- so that he could not find a job, he went into a state of depression and despair so severe that he jumped off the top of the Hotel Vitale. Tom was a good and generous person with numerous friends who is greatly missed. He was a victim of adult bullying. He is survived by his young son, his wife, and his parents and numerous brother and sisters. RIP Tom. You were a beautiful person, and I wish your friends had known you were in crisis so that we could have done more to help you. xox sweet friend.
