Uh Oh, Bad News for “Peak Oil” Fans – American Production of Crude Oil has been Going Up Lately

I don’t know, if I were all set on the idea that American oil production peaked in 1970, I’d be getting a little worried about now.

  1. Newb says:

Fracking opened new resources, but i’m still riding a bike.

  2. SFC says:

Yep, fracking. And $100 a barrel oil.

The point is that peak oil is irrelevant, a worthless metric.

  3. Ian Cooper says:

Fracking opened new but very limited resources. That upturn will soon fizzle. Reports of the death of peak oil are greatly exaggerated. The US peak was in 1970 – that’s never going to change.
