I don’t know, cyclists have the choice of stopping before the busy crosswalk near the Powell Cable Car turnaround or just blowing on through.
But what you shouldn’t do is stop in the middle of the crosswalk right when you happen to notice all the cops around, as one person does here.
And oh, at the beginning of this short video, dude coming south on Cyril Magnin (aka North Fifth Street) gets yelled at by a city worker in a white pickup for waiting to illegally turn left to get to inbound Market:
The reaction, of course, is no reaction.

I’ve stopped counting the number of times I’ve narrowly missed being mowed down in a crosswalk by cyclists running the light. Since when are cyclists above the law?
This goes on and on every single day all over The City. Most of the cyclists are arrogant, self entitled assholes who ignore all traffic laws.
Streetsblog is where cyclists go to get a big pat on the back for behaving badly.
And the white van parked in an active traffic lane is ok?
Well sure, that’s the whole. The cops don’t really care if you run red lights on your bike or if you double park your car on Market. The exception would be meter maids for the truck and motorcycle cops for the red light runners. But the average cop doesn’t really care.
