It’s the sense that anytime a pedestrian gets hit, it’s not the pedestrian’s fault.
Do peds have the right to cross Market Street whenever they want?

Hey SFPD, how about issuing 100 or so jaywalking tickets each day on Market?
You know, for their own good?

To the credit of the jaywalkers in the photo, not one of them was engrossed in that all-important phone call as they crossed. This photo is a keeper because they may be the only pedestrians who have crossed any San Francisco street without the aid of a phone in recent memory.
Indeed.
And yet it seems like people get hit, they are crossing with the light & not jaywalking.
Not at all. Most ped deaths in SF are the fault of the ped him/herself, particularly lately.
For this year, there have been numerous ped deaths due to peds crossing in the middle of the block, like on Masonic, Hayes, Lombard and others too numerous for me to recall.
