This is what SROs, needle exchanges, methadone clinics and the Homeless Coalition get us. A municipal society that condones and supports this behavior. They might as well do it right in front of the “safety hub” — even if SFPD does arrest this woman for possession of an illegal drug, she will never be prosecuted in SF. Instead, she will probably harass the officer with a BS OCC complaint, get the charges dropped, and be back out shooting heroin or meth or whatever in no time.

Sixth St will never get cleaned up until the junkies, addicts, and mentally ill are either treated and healed and reintroduced as productive members of society, or locked up where they can be cared for away from polite society. Or we can just relegate the TL and Sixth S to them as a sort of containment zone.

Uh, it’s so shocking and dehumanizing. May God help them find a better life.
