A scraper bike is an ordinary bicycle that has been modified by its owner, typically with decorated spokes with candy-colored pinwheels and matching body and wheel colors, using tinfoil, re-used cardboard, candy wrappers and paint. Scraper bikes are credited for being popularized by Tyrone Stevenson in 2007 in Oakland, California,[1][2] and are an offshoot of the scraper culture of car modification.[3] The scraper bike gained notoriety in 2007 with the YouTube music video “Scraper Bikes” by Trunk Boiz.

Would You Believe WOULD YOU BELIEVE?? on Geary – A Dive Bar for Christians? – That’s What I Thought

Thursday, March 31st, 2016

But, upon further review, I see that WOULD YOU BELIEVE refers to the kind of shaggy dog story/joke/anecdote that you might hear at a dive bar called “Would You Believe?”

I get it now!

Odd name for a dive bar. The sign says cocktails but this is a beer and shots joint.
Very divey…think pool and dice. Unlike most dives, place is clean including the bathrooms and the clientele is non menacing. We love this place.”

San Francisco Story: You Can Afford a Mercedes Benz But Not a Parking Space for It – So You Park on the Front “Lawn”

Wednesday, March 30th, 2016

There used to be grass here, ‘neath this Benz, but it’s gone.

Long gone.

So now all you need to do is twist 90 degrees and you’re parked:

Did a “Rogue Wave” Overturn SFFD Marina District’s Rescue Boat? CERTAINLY NOT – How About a Sneaker, Sleeper or Set Wave Instead?

Wednesday, March 30th, 2016

There has been speculation among officials that the boat capsized due to a large, rogue wave, although the matter is still under investigation.”

Non, non, non!

Rogue waves (also known as freak waves, monster waves, episodic waves, killer waves, extreme waves, and abnormal waves) are large and spontaneous surface waves that occur far out in open water, and can be extremely dangerous, even to large ships such as ocean liners.”

Ocean Beach aint in open water, right?

So SFGov spokesmodels should pick a different adjective.

How about sneaker wave? You know, the kind that sneak up on the unwary. Or sleeper wave, for the sleepyheaded mariner. Or set wave, if you’re a surfer.

Speaking of which, take a look:

I suppose, if you don’t know what you’re doing, then you could try to pass the buck by calling this a rogue wave (or an Act of God). But that would just go to show that you didn’t know what you’re doing.

Oh here we go, CNN does my job for me here.

How common was the wave what overturned our rescue boat? Was it a once in a day wave, or a once every ten years wave? IDK. But it certainly wasn’t a rogue wave.

If only we had a highly trained branch of the US military stationed nearby, standing by to help people in the water…

Security Guards Rousting Homeless at Hamilton Square / Western Addition Library on Easter Sunday? Who’s Paying These People?

Wednesday, March 30th, 2016

Just asking. You tell me, babe. Here’s the view from Geary just east of Scott:

This was at a time when the Western Addition Library was closed and this sure looks like rousting to me.

Are these guys peace officers or park rangers or feds or something? Sure don’t look like it. That means they’re security guards operating at Hamilton Square? Do they work for the SFPL? IDK.

What’s next, the Library Police (to go with the Mint Police and every other kind of police we have in SF)?

Now even I’m confused, after that copy pasting.

At first, I saw the word HOUSE and I read the cursive writing as CLIFF. But oh, CHART HOUSE, Pier 39. Two stars on Yelp, even with your possible shill reviews thrown in:

I think you can rent these near China Beach?

Anyway, never seen this, in all my years, you know, way out west near Ocean Beach instead of near the fleet at Fishermans Wharf
