Tuesday, May 16th, 2017

IDK, just asking.

Here’s the outlet at Baker Beach:

It runs clear. I mean I’ve never seen it not run clear. But if you let it run into a temporary diversion pond it gets all foamy. See?

I know that this creek has a bad reputation for water quality, but I’ve never heard of anybody getting sick from it, and you’d think somebody would considering the thousands of people who go traipsing through it on a weekly basis.

So, IDK.

Remembering the Aughts: When Female SFPD Officers were Allowed to Wear Earrings and How They Violated Policy

Tuesday, May 16th, 2017

Here we go, a shot from 2009 on Market, from some protest. These two stood out. And I thought, can the popo wear earrings in Frisco?

And here’s your answer, or at least it was back during the earliest part of our current millennium:

5. JEWELRY AND ORNAMENTS (also see DGO 11.08, Grooming Standards).

On-duty officers shall not wear jewelry or personal ornaments that are visible except:

a. A wristwatch.

b. A total of 2 rings that are consistent with officer safety. An engagement and wedding ring set will be considered as one ring.

c. A conservative tie bar or tie tack.

d. Female officers may, in addition, wear the following:

1. Hair clips or pins that match the color of the hair.

2. One ear post in each ear. The post must lie flush with the ear and be plain metal, gold or silver colored. The face of the post is not to have a diameter of more than three-eighths (3/8) inch. Nothing shall hang from the post.

So that’s your answer, no danglies.
