Title: Evict the Cops! Defend our Homes!
START DATE: Wednesday January 01
TIME: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Location Details: 3pm: 24th and Mission Bart Station
Event Type: Protest
On January 1st Mission residents and agitators want to ring in the New Year with a big “fuck you!” to the San Francisco Police Department. The elevated pig presence in the neighborhood is unavoidable and many have already felt its effects. In November, four Valencia Gardens residents were attacked and then arrested by SFPD officers. And the expansion of police surveillance at the 16th street BART plaza has lead to increased harassment of young people of color, homeless folks, and sex workers.

These efforts only aid in the gentrification of the Mission District as policing and surveillance are integral to the process of sterilizing a neighborhood for new, well-to-do, bougie assholes. Time and again the police have proven their loyalties to new developers and shitty landlords.

It’s the cops who are there to make sure we leave on the day of our evictions, who throw us out of our squats when we have no place to go, and who continually harass us because we’re not white yuppies. We’re fucking sick of it and so our resolution for 2014 is to make the SFPD’s life hell at any opportunity that presents itself.

Come out and march on January 1st at 3pm starting at 24th street BART Plaza and ending at 16th street BART.

This Billboard Above the Masonic Starbucks Kicks Off Roe v. Wade Month in SF – Abortion Marches Coming

Monday, December 23rd, 2013

I can’t recall the last time I saw a pro-life billboard in San Francisco. Maybe never?

Here it is, on Masonic near Fulton – it’s all “My Doc Says, ‘I Could Smile Before I Was Born – 12 Weeks from Conception'”

Things will finish up with Walk For Life West Coast and the home-grown counter-protest, both of which will occur on January 25, 2014.

Sometimes the counter-protest is a bigger deal, other times locals purposefully ignore WFLWC. I don’t know how it’s going to be in 2014…

“JACK OFF 16TH STREET” – Performance Artist Chicken John Rinaldi to Protest at the Jack Spade Site This Friday Night

Thursday, October 10th, 2013

All the deets:

For immediate “release”

Chicken John and friends to “JACK OFF” 16th Street!

San Francisco, CA – To demonstrate their objection to chain stores like Jack Spade trying to take root in the Mission, San Francisco showman Chicken John Rinaldi and a collection of friends and followers are planning to “JACK OFF” in front of the chain store’s proposed location this Friday night.

“We promise to jack off until we fill the streets with semen!” Chicken John said, about what may be the world’s largest masturbatory action to end gentrification.  Participants are willing to risk indecent exposure to support the principle of a Mission district without chain stores.

According to Rinaldi, an ocean of male semen could help wash away the sin of gentrification once and for all.

“We, the people of the Mission District demand that Jack Spade pull out of their venture to open on 16th street. They are not wanted here. We are ready and willing to go to extreme lengths to soil their brand,” he said.

JACK OFF 16TH STREET will take place Friday, Oct. 11, at 8 p.m., in front of 3166 16th Street.

Gee, If the “FREE SPEECH AREA” for the 2013 Pride Parade is Halfway Down 5th Street, Everywhere Else is the NO FREE SPEECH AREA?

Thursday, June 27th, 2013

Here’s the map from last year and I’m supposing that it’s still good for 2013 seeing as how the Pride website doesn’t seem to have been updated completely.

And I suppose that I mean halfway down the first block of 5th Street, but it hardly matters – those with something to say about Bradley Manning or whathaveyou will be out of sight, out of mind regardless.

Or so it seems:

Oh well.

WTF? America’s Cup 2013 Workers STILL Haven’t Been Paid? Big Skeleton Protest at City Hall

Friday, May 31st, 2013

Now when I say big skeleton protest, I’m talking about a big skeleton on the steps of City Hall.

The ongoing protest itself is small, with just three dudes when I passed by.

“AMERICA”S CUP” and “SHAME ON THEM”

I can’t believe how fucked up Larry Ellison’s America’s Cup has become.

If I were Larry Ellison, I’d have my people pay the carpenters and whomever and then be done with this.

Apparently, “most” of the carpenters came up from Southern California?

And “most” of the carpentry is done already anyway.

Oh well.

Or maybe the America’s Cup people only committed to “endeavoring” to pay their workers?

Maybe it’s something like that…

“Walk for Life West Coast 2013″ Activists Apologize for the Abortion Jumbotron – Hey, Did They Really Have 50,000+ Souls?

Friday, February 1st, 2013

You all can read the press release below.

Here’s your apology:

“A Jumbotron displaying a graphic video of aborted children was set up by an anti-abortion group midway
along the Walk route, despite efforts by Walk organizers to dissuade the group from playing the video.”

Did not know that. OK fine.

I’ll tell you, I wasn’t even there this go around. But nevertheless, observations

1.  “Record crowd tops 50,000?” Yeah, I don’t think so. You know, back in the day, back in the mid-aughts, I admired the organizers for _not_ lying about crowd size. Well, those days are over so now the organizers lie each and every year. Hey, isn’t lying a sin? I think so. Oh, you’re just “playing the media game?” All right, well that makes you SINNERS, FYI.

2. Oh, San Francisco Supervisor Scott Wiener was there at the counter protest? Now, isn’t it ironic that most of the young gals holding the banners would be to the left of our District 8 Supe on his core issues concerning stuff like rent control and the rights of propertah owners? Yes it is. (And look who _wasn’t_ on the scene – Catholic San Francisco Supervisor and similarly propertah-owner-loving Mark Farrell. His absence wasn’t ironic at all.)

3. Speaking of which, who are the people who pick who gets the carry the banner and get on TV year after year? You know, all the young gals, year after year, with the high degree of apparent reproductive fitness?

Via WFLWC Media BLog – click to expand

These young women are herded around year after year doing exactly what they’re told by stage mother-types and and old Catholic dudes wearing robes. What if young people organized the parade what features young people so prominently?

Just asking…

Anyway, you lie about your crowd “estimate” every year and you know you lie about it so that kind of makes you sinners.

Fin.

“Pope Benedict XVI honors Walk for Life West Coast – Record crowd tops 50,000, fills main S.F. thoroughfare for more than 1 mile

SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 27, 2013 – Pope Benedict XVI commended the “outstanding public witness to
the fundamental human right to life” of the Walk for Life West Coast, in a special message delivered by
his delegate to tens of thousands gathered in front of San Francisco’s City Hall Jan.26.

The Walk for Life West Coast rally at Civic Center Plaza filled the plaza, before participants walked the
two miles from City Hall to the Ferry Building, traveling through the heart of the city’s shopping and
financial districts. More than to 50,000 participated, organizers estimated.

Pope Benedict XVI’s representative to the United States, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano delivered a
message from the pope along with his papal blessing. Pope Benedict’s message, which was also sent out
on a Vatican Twitter feed, said, His Holiness “is grateful to all those who take part in this outstanding
public witness to the fundamental human right to life and the moral imperative of upholding the
inviolable dignity of each member of our human family, especially the smallest and most defenseless of
our brothers and sisters.”

“You are a powerful witness that God’s truth cannot be silenced,” said San Francisco Archbishop
Salvatore J. Cordileone, who blessed participants to begin the event. “Yes, we are here to stay because
life is good and life is holy.”

The speakers at the Walk included Lacey Buchanan, the mother of a disabled child; Elaine Riddick, who
was forcibly sterilized by the state of North Carolina at age 14; Kelly and Matthew Clinger who regret
their abortions; and the Rev. Clenard Childress, Jr., who has spoken at nearly every walk since its
founding in 2005.

“Truth is rising up and you are the picture of that truth,” said Rev. Childress to loud cheers. “We will not
draw back until every child is free.”

A Jumbotron displaying a graphic video of aborted children was set up by an anti-abortion group midway
along the Walk route, despite efforts by Walk organizers to dissuade the group from playing the video.

Founded in 2005 by a group of San Francisco Bay Area residents, the Walk for Life West Coast’s mission
is to change the perception of a society that thinks abortion is the answer. For more information and
