9/11 Truth Crazies Return to Bay Area: “Reclaiming the Truth, Reclaiming Our Future” Today in Oakland

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

You know, 9/11 conspiracy theorists have become just like JFK assassination conspiracy theorists.

Anyway, they’re back. Deets below.

As seen in Union Square a while back

Ten Years Later, An Independent Investigation of 9/11 is Needed

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 7, 2011  9/11 Reclaiming the Truth, Reclaiming Our Future will be held Thursday, September 8, 1 pm to 10 pm at the Grand Lake Theater, 3200 Grand Ave., Oakland, and Sunday, September 11, 1 pm to 9:30 pm at the Herbst Theatre, 401 Van Ness Ave., San Francisco. Speakers include Mickey Huff, Dr. Peter Phillips, sister of fallen firefighter David Weiss Michele Little, authors Paul Rea (Mounting Evidence: Why We Need a New Investigation of 9/11), Prof. Anthony J. Hall ( Earth into Property), Anodea Judith (Waking the Global Heart: Humanity’s Rites of Passage From the Love of Power to the Power of Love), Kevin Danaher, Joanna Macy (World as Lover, World as Self), filmmakers Ken Jenkins and Brett Smith, and radio hosts Bonnie Faulkner, Carol Brouillet and Sherry Glaser. Along with films Psywar, You, Me & the SPP, Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup, Hypothesis, 9/11: Explosive Evidence – Experts Speak Out, there will be live streaming from Toronto and Seattle.

The Toronto Hearings will examine evidence for the inadequacy of the U.S. government’s investigations of 9/11, an event which has been used to initiate military invasions and to restrict the rights of citizens. The founder of Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, Erik Lawyer will hold ONE: The Event – Shifting from Fear to Love in Seattle to encourage “the choice of love over fear, kindness over anger, and responsibility rather than blame.”

The diverse speakers agree that the official 9/11 Commission Report and the NIST Reports on the destruction of the World Trade Center buildings are not believable and that an independent investigation into 9/11 is needed. Those in Toronto plan on issuing their own 9/11 report.  Evidence suggests those most responsible for 9/11 were rewarded, that no one was reprimanded, and that others were scapegoated unjustly for their alleged involvement.

The Bay Area events are benefits for the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance, whose mission is “to seek and disseminate truths about the terrible crimes committed on September 11, 2001, exposing gaps and deceptions in the official story, and to thus inspire more eyewitness revelations, truthful media coverage, and a movement that will bring the responsible criminals to justice and eliminate governmental and corporate policies that enable criminal elements to commit such acts.”

The Audis are Coming! The Synthetic RenDiesel-Powered Audis are Coming to San Francisco – Is This “Clean Diesel” or Not?

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

I suppose the Fischer–Tropsch process of turning various things into liquid fuel isn’t just for Nazi Germany anymore – news comes today about some Audis powered by synthetic diesel that came from natural gas.

They’ll be touring the state soon, starting off up in tiny Eureka and then hitting San Francisco on October 19th.

The whole point is to show off RenDiesel fuel made at America’s only synfuels plant. (The place in Mississippi makes just ten barrels a day - not very much but they have plans to expand production.)

I get the feeling that this effort won’t impress the StreetsBlog people, but I could be wrong. Anyway, all the deets are below.

From natural gas to diesel to your Audi A3 TDI:

To the pilots of these Audis, I have four words:

Bon voyage

All the deets:

‘Eureka! Diesel Driving the Future’ to Feature Audi A3 TDIs Running 1,000 Miles — the Length of California — on Synthetic RenDiesel®

Clean diesel journey a part of Green Car of the Year Tour(TM)

EUREKA, Calif., Oct. 12– A pair of 2010 Audi A3 TDI cars are scheduled to embark on a four day, 1,000 mile journey beginning October 18, 2010 driving exclusively on synthetic RenDiesel® fuel produced from natural gas by Rentech, Inc. (NYSE AMEX: RTK). The Audi A3 TDI® is Green Car Journal’s 2010 Green Car of the Year®.

The drive by Green Car Journal editors and invited VIPs is part of the magazine’s Green Car of the Year Tour(TM), which this year focuses on the important role that advanced clean diesel vehicles play in efficiency and CO2 reduction, plus the potential that lies ahead for sustainable non-petroleum fuels. Clean diesel models have captured top honors as the Green Car of the Year® the past two years. This California stage of the tour follows the magazine’s August 2010 Green Car of the Year Tour(TM) activity at Argonne National Laboratory near Chicago.

The two A3 TDIs will leave on their 1,000-mile journey from Eureka, California’s largest northernmost city located on Humboldt Bay, heading toward San Diego, the state’s largest southernmost city. Stops along the way include Sacramento (October 18), San Francisco (October 19), and San Diego (October 20), with a return northward to the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles for a Green Car of the Year Tour(TM) wrap-up event on October 21.

“With many thousands of miles already behind the wheel of Audi’s outstanding A3 TDI over the past year, Green Car Journal editors are well acquainted with the model’s thriftiness and fun-to-drive nature,” said Ron Cogan, Editor and Publisher of the Green Car Journal and Editor of GreenCar.com.  “Running on a 100% low carbon fuel will make this 1,000 mile journey all the more satisfying.”

Group-Buying Websites are All the Rage in the 415 – $4 Movie Tickets are Back

Friday, May 21st, 2010

I’ll tell you, the kids these days, they want to get a deal, but they want their friends in on it to. Or something. I’m not sure how all it all works, but all’s I know is that I don’t see the downside to forking over four bones, waiting for a letter in the post and then going to an AMC theater like Metreon or AMC Van Ness to catch a movie.

You’ll party cause it’s priced like 1999 (or earlier). Speaking of which, I’ll remember that year as the era of the WebVan – the things were double-parked all over town. Anyway, they would pick up your choice of DVD or videotape at BlockBuster, deliver it to you, and then pick it up a few days later, all for free! Of course you still had to pay the rental fee, but you had to wonder how the transaction made money. (It didn’t, actually. I think the investors got 1% of their investment back, by selling off the vans and the Herman Miller chairs, an icon of the era. )

Anyway, check out this kgb Deal, comrade. (They’re saying $4 is the 1989 price to see a movie. I forget, but it sounds credible.) KGB is a new outfit, so I assume that they’re offering a good deal to make a splash.

In Soviet Russia, KGB deal with you, but in America, KGB give you deal. America, what a country!

Check the deets – they’re only mailing out to bay area addresses.

IMO, this is a good, albeit small, deal.

Choose wisely.

9/11 Truth Crazies Return to San Francisco, Like Swallows to Capistrano

Friday, February 19th, 2010

[Welcome fans of the "Breakthrough Energy Examiner" Sterling Allan, who, of course, veered "off topic" just a skosh, huh? (Unless It All Ties Together, Somehow.) He's got to be careful, else he'll step on the toes of the 9/11 Truth Examiner (if there is a such a person yet), right? Oh well, I don't have an "open mind" on controlled demolition. Sorry.]

Well it’s getting close to Springtime, so leave us welcome back Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, who chose San Francisco as the place to launch their Late Winter Offensive, 2010. (Offensive? Is there anything that you could consider offensive, anything that might insult your intelligence coming from this crew? As Always, You Make The Call.)

The 11th floor of our highly-rated Marines Memorial Club & Hotel at 609 Sutter was packed this AM - could have been a couple hundred, maybe. But not a one MSM news vehicle was on the scene, AFAICS, to celebrate the news of the 1000-member-milestone being surpassed. Irregardless, this was a big deal for the A’s and the E’s – they had simultaneous news conferences going on all over the place.

Let’s see here, they didn’t like getting mocked by Glenn Beck recently*, and they think that their professional licenses are “at risk.” Really? (Has any Truther lost his or her license because of Truther status? Not that I’m aware of.) And, oh yes, they say they’re not conspiracy theorists**, so apparently just one person set all those explosives on all those floors of all those buildings.

Anyway, have at it, Building 7, controlled demolition, sheeple, banksters, etc. below. Enjoy.

[UPDATE: Is it surprising that 1000 architects, engineers, butchers or bakers can form a Thruther club? Not to me. Would it be fair to say that the average architect and or engineer isn't a Truther? You people are just like the JFK conspiracy theorists, right? On another note, aside from a 20,000-reader-weekly in Joisey, did any of these AE911 press conferences on 2-19-2010 get any press coverage, MSM or not-so-MSM,  from anywhere in the world? And actually, didn't this movement peak with the Loose Change boom back around 2006?]

Richard Gage, AIA:

Your Marines Memorial, 11th floor. Last time I was here, it was a Junior League of San Francisco joint (speaking of highly-rated) - 100+ earnest post-collegiate babes wearing sweaters (and buying purses, for some reason). Today, it’s Truthers and only Truthers.

Corporate Bankster Oligarchy, the Mossad, it all fits together.

All the deets, after the jump.

*That’s the best I can do for you, I didn’t register(?) to listen in. I’ve heard of him but I don’t know who Glenn Beck is. Oh here you go – this is a big deal for some Texas election.

**Of course there was a conspiracy, involving at least 19, right?

What To Do When Your Toyota’s Gas Pedal Sticks and You’re Going 120 MPH?

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Well, you’re probably too young to remember, but back in the 1980′s we had this thing where people would buy Audi 5000′s and then they’d press the go pedal when they meant to press the no-go pedal. Drivers were crashing into swimming pools, killing pedestrians – it was carnage. The funny thing was, though, that if you kept your foot on the brake your Audi 5000 wouldn’t go anywhere.

The Canadians (Transport Canada, eh?) looked into it and called these unintended acceleration crashes the result of  “driver error” but the NHSTA came up with the polotocally correct phrase “pedal misapplication.” No matter, it means the same thing. To sum it all up, here are some peoples’ takes on this issue and here’s a different perpective from the Center for Auto Safety*

The point being is that the whole theory that plaintiff’s lawyers initially came up with to explain what was going on was complete garbage. If you want to talk about how best to size and locate the gas and brake pedals for the relatively unskilled, a-driver’s-license-is-my-birthright American driver, well then have at it, but it’s sort of funny how these accidents didn’t happen as much in Honda Civics, which had an almost identical pedal layout. And the upshot is that sales did recover in the U.S., and Audi is back to being the sexy chariot of the yuppie it was back in the ’80s.

Anywho, it’s 2010 and we now have a another entry in the annals of unintended acceleration: the 2010 Toyota Vehicle Recalls. Floormats and the gas pedal setup both appear to be part of the problems.

Toyota’s tip on how to operate your floor mats:

And here’s Toyota’s advice on how to not kill yourself when your sticky throttle sticks wide open, from a time when the floor mats were considered the primary cause of trouble (but it’s still good advice):

First, if it is possible and safe to do so, pull back the floor mat and dislodge it from the accelerator pedal; then pull over and stop the vehicle.

If the floor mat cannot be dislodged, then firmly and steadily step on the brake pedal with both feet. Do NOT pump the brake pedal repeatedly as this will increase the effort required to slow the vehicle.

Shift the transmission gear selector to the Neutral (N) position and use the brakes to make a controlled stop at the side of the road and turn off the engine.

If unable to put the vehicle in Neutral, turn the engine OFF, or to ACC. This will not cause loss of steering or braking control, but the power assist to these systems will be lost.

-If the vehicle is equipped with an Engine Start/Stop button, firmly and steadily push the button for at least three seconds to turn off the engine. Do NOT tap the Engine Start/Stop button.
-If the vehicle is equipped with a conventional key-ignition, turn the ignition key to the ACC position to turn off the engine. Do NOT remove the key from the ignition as this will lock the steering wheel.

O.K. fine. It still baffles me how a CHP officer who inspected vehicles as a major part of his job couldn’t figure this out when his Lexus loaner sedan’s throttle got stuck full-open. He didn’t know how to navigate the needlessly-complicated shifter into N? The brakes failed? He didn’t know he had to press the ignition off button for three seconds? I mean, I would have thought he could have done those four things done in about ten seconds, but the period of time where the car was out of control was much longer than that.

(Some people say to not try to turn off the engine, but I say go for it. As far as how difficult it is to turn off cars with keyless ignition switches, well, how did you intend to turn off the car at the end of your trip? That’s what you should do when you’re barreling along the highway out of control.)

Could Toyota intall a “brake-to-idle feature” so that when you’re under full throttle and you hit the brakes the car realizes that and closes the throttle no matter what? Yes, it looks like that would end this issue for the most part.

In the meantime, Government Motors is mocking Toyota over these recent deaths, offering $1000 to Toyota owners who trade-in for a General Motors car. The problem with that, GM, is that Toyota can’t hear your mockery because they’re way up in nosebleed territory on the mountain of cash they’ve managed to accumulate over the years. Nice try tho, GM.

Somebody could write a book about this, maybe they’ve already started.

Stay safe

*This doesn’t make sense: “…cars with full acceleration take an average of 65 feet to stop.” If you’re saying that cars at freeway speeds with throttles stuck wide open take an average of 65 feet more to stop than similar cars at idle, then you might have something there, CAS.

Calling All Proud Parents: Gap Searches for the New Faces of babyGap and GapKids With Its Fourth Annual Casting Call Contest

Gap Teams Up with Disney Family.com for a Nationwide Search to Find America’s Brightest Personalities and Most Adorable Young Faces

Gap’s nationwide search for babies and kids with a twinkle in their eye, charm in their smile and an expressive personality to match has officially started. Today Gap launched its fourth annual Gap Casting Call, a nationwide contest to find the next faces of babyGap and GapKids. This year, Gap is teaming up with online parenting site, Disney Family.com, offering phenomenal prizes and more chances to win with its first-ever America’s Fan Favorite and Voters’ Sweepstakes awards.

“Casting Call is one of our favorite programs and this year we want to make it bigger and better than ever,” said Pam Wallack, president of babyGap, GapKids and GapMaternity. “The contest is a unique and fun way for us to interact with our customers and their children and we are extremely excited to be partnering with Disney, a brand synonymous with not only families but also family entertainment, to enhance the program and add a little something special to this year’s Casting Call.”

How Casting Call Works:

Entry Phase: From Sept. 22 to Oct. 22, parents across the country can enter their child in the contest by visiting gap.com/castingcall to upload a photo of their baby (ages four and under) and kid (ages five to 10) for a chance to be featured in an upcoming babyGap or GapKids campaign in Feb. 2010.

The Finalists: Once the entry phase closes on Oct. 22, judges will narrow down the field to twenty finalists — 10 babies (five girls and five boys) for babyGap and 10 kids (five girls and five boys) for GapKids. The 20 finalists will be flown to San Francisco with their families to participate in an official Gap photo shoot and will receive prize packages, including a $500 Gap gift card and a deluxe Disney gift bag.

Voting Phase: On Dec. 7, the twenty finalists will be unveiled and voting will begin on gap.com/castingcall. It will then be up to America to decide the next faces of babyGap and GapKids for a 2010 campaign. Voters can vote once a day every day for babyGap [1 boy and 1 girl] and GapKids [1 boy and 1 girl]. And contestants won’t be the only ones with a chance to win great prizes. This year, Gap and Disney Family.com are offering a special Voter Sweepstakes. For each vote cast at gap.com/castingcall from Dec. 7 – Dec. 21, voters will be entered in a contest to win a weeklong Luxury Included  Caribbean family vacation to Beaches Resorts in Turks and Caicos or Jamaica.

The Winners: Four children will be selected as winners of the Gap Casting Call — one baby girl and one baby boy for babyGap and one girl and one boy for GapKids. The winners will be featured in the windows of babyGap and GapKids stores from coast-to-coast and will receive other incredible prizes from Gap and Disney including a $1,000 Gap gift card and a Disney on Broadway package in New York or Las Vegas for a two-night VIP Lion King experience.

“In addition to inspiring great ideas for family life, Disney Family.com and Gap are now giving moms a chance to showcase the kids that make it all worthwhile,” said Emily Smith, vice president, Disney Online Mom and Family Portfolio.

Introducing the Fan Favorite Award:

For the first time in Casting Call history, Gap is introducing an award for America’s “Fan Favorite.” The lucky child who receives the most votes at gap.com/castingcall starting on Sept. 22 will win a weeklong Luxury Included  Caribbean family vacation to Beaches Resorts in Turks and Caicos or Jamaica.

Fan Favorite voting runs from Sept. 22 through Nov. 17 and the winner will be announced on Dec. 7, along with the 20 finalists. To help get the word out, parents can leverage the power of Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, LinkedIn, and good ole’ fashioned e-mail to help get votes for their adorable tot.

To help spread the word about their charismatic Casting Call contestant, parents can also create a “printable,” an adorable mini Gap shopping bag photo holder with arms and legs to showoff their aspiring model. When parents submit a photo of their child, they can opt to print out the printable character that sits on the edge of a table or desk and holds a “Vote for me” sign.

Visit gap.com/castingcall for official contest and sweepstakes rules and information.

The Presidio’s Newest Trail – the 1000-Step Immigrant Point/Coastal Connector

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

Now up in Marin, you go to the hoosegow if you start trailblazing on public lands. But in San Francisco, the authoritahs are more understanding. They’ll talk about how you forged a “social” or “non-designated” trail, and then they’ll go and spend time and effort to make it proper.

As is the case in the Presidio, with the recent unveiling of the winding, “ass-kicking” Immigrant Point/Coastal Connector, a so-called 1000 Steps Trail. (Really, it’s only just 808 footsteps directly down from the Immigrant Point Overlook on Washington to the nude area of Baker Beach via the sand ladder trail, but oh well.)

From the Immigrant Point Overlook on Washington Boulevard. Click to expand

You should check it out. The top part is just like a stair-stepping machine, except you’re outdoors in the fresh air. How unnatural.

The map link is above, here is the map. The trail starts on the south side of the Overlook on Washington Blvd and then winds down to Lincoln Blvd. (This photo is from before the recent changes, so you can’t see all of the new trail, FYI) From there, you can go wherever you want on Lincoln.
