You know, the only thing missing from this garish, Kelly green hybrid taxi is a pair of Yosemite Sam “Back Off” Mud Guards.
Do not tailgate, indeed:
Driver, heal thyself.

After famous Conan O’Brien performed at his “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour 2010“ at the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium on April 22-23 he headed south down to San Joser. But on the way, he managed to put in a visit to Google’s HQ in Mountain View. O.K. then.
Well, he was simply delighted with Google’s Japanese-made Toto toilets. Check the YouTube.

Front cleansing indeed.

Conan O’Brien’s 32-city “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour 2010“ delighted all comers at the sold-out Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium tonight.
It went a little something like this.
Friday’s show should be a hit as well. Keep up with the action at the Twitter via #cobnob
Bonus: the Masturbating Bear made an appearance tonight as well:

[UPDATE: OMG COCO is finally here. Follow the action via Twitter at #cobnob.]
Oh, it’s on. It’s going to be Coco a Gogo when Conan O’Brien’s “half-assed“ 32-city “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour 2010“ comes to the Nob Hill Masonic Auditorium April 22-23. It’ll be just like 2007 all over again.
“Full Price Tickets” from TicketMonster are going right now for $74, all up. And for just $695 you can get in on the Meet and Greet Package- wouldn’t you like a photo of you and Conan to put on the FaceBook for all your “friends” to see? Sure you would.

I don’t know, maybe you can score some cheaper ticks by using your AmEx card or going to the box office or something.
See you there!

Not too often you see regular military fighter jets above San Francisco these days, you know, just flying around on some mission as opposed to performing an airshow. Last time for me seeing something like that was when a pair of U.S. Air Force F-15′s roared low and fast over the Western Addition about a half-decade ago.
Here’s the view from Haight Ashbury yesterday, through the Blue Gum Eucalyptus trees. Don’t bother looking at the misfocused photo ’cause you probably won’t be able to see them, but KPIX / CBS5 has some footage from Oakland International Airport yesterday. There they are lined up next to the King Airs and whatnot at OAK.
Speaking of airshows, remember this alarmist headline from a few years back: “Blue Angel Kills Thousands in SF crash”
Of course, no spectator has died at an airshow in San Francisco ever, I don’t think. And actually, no airshow accident has killed or injured a spectator in America in the past half-century or so that writer Tim Redmond has been alive. (Let’s not talk about Russia or Ukraine – spectators die all the time in those places.)
And of course, a crash like that one in San Diego wouldn’t kill anybody in San Francisco because the Blue Angels would react differently to a sudden loss of power. And if there were a crash for other reasons, it would be simply unpossible for that to kill “thousands.”
Anyway, if you ever want to say that you don’t like the Blue Angels, it’ll be up to you to just say that you don’t like the Blue Angels or, instead, to make a blog post going, “Blue Angel Kills Thousands in SF crash.”
Your choice.
Anyway again, this “Military Aircraft operation” might have brought a nuclear aircraft carrier to the waters of the Farallones, who knows.
Look to the skies! They are ever changing.
Suit and tie comes up to me
His face red
Like a rose on a thorn bush
Like all the colours of a royal flush
And he’s peeling off those dollars bills
Slapping them down, one hundred, two hundred,
And I can see those fighter planes
And I can see the fighter planes
Across the mud huts as the children sleep
Through the alleys of a quiet city street
Up the staircase to the first floor
We turn the key and slowly unlock the door
A man breathes deep into saxophone
Through the walls we hear the city groan
Outside is America
Outside is America
Last year’s rape case at Richmond High School in the City of Richmond, CA is getting some attention from the solons of Sacramento.
Item 1: Senator Leland Yee doesn’t cotton to the idea of people just standing around when 16-year-olds get raped, so he authored Senate Bill 840. It requires:
“individuals who reasonably believe that they have witnessed a murder, rape or lewd or lascivious act with a child under the age of 18 years to notify law enforcement officials.”
Basically, SB840 would update the David Cash Jr. Law, aka the Sherrie Iverson Child Victim Protection Act that was authored by former Senator, current Assemblyman, and future Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Torlakson. Tom’s law already covers victims aged up to 14 years - Leland’s proposed law would add in victims aged 15 through 18.
The California Senate’s Assistant President pro Tempore at the helm in Sacramento:
Here’s a brief rundown on non-Samaritan poster-boy David Cash, from Wiki’s entry on murderer Jerry Strohmeyer:
“Sherrice Iverson’s mother demanded that David Cash, Jr., be charged as an accessory, but authorities stated there was not enough evidence connecting him to the actual crime, and Cash was never prosecuted for any offense related to the murder. In the weeks following Strohmeyer’s arrest, Cash told the Los Angeles Timesthat he did not dwell on the murder of Sherrice Iverson. “I’m not going to get upset over somebody else’s life. I just worry about myself first. I’m not going to lose sleep over somebody else’s problems.” He also told the newspaper that the publicity surrounding the case had made it easier for him to “score with women.” Cash also told the Long Beach Press-Telegram: “I’m no idiot … I’ll get my money out of this.”
So that’s Item 1.
Item 2: Assemblyman Pedro Nava has authored AB 984, which would cover victims of any age.
So, those are California’s proposed witness crime reporting bills of 2010, so far.
Here’s Senator Yee’s release from this morning, after the jump
