The Famous Brown Twins are Still on the Prowl in San Francisco

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

Well here they are, Marian and Vivian (or Vivan and Marian) Brown, the San Francisco Twins. They’re still on patrol in Union Square after all these years.

This duo was recently spied on Stockton Street betwixt Geary and Post, right in front of the new Gucci store. The gigantic ad they’re walking in front of has seen better days, as you can tell by the swaths of white paint.

Those darn graffiti artists are everywhere, it seems.

San Francisco Hipsters Descend Upon the AMC Pacer Classic Car

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

This was the scene on Haight Street the other day - four urban youths inside of one AMC Pacer. This thing was advertised as the “first wide small car,” and maybe it was. Back in the day, certainly, it was wide enough for the Sandwich King. And these days, a Pacer is good enough to get you into the Nor Cal AMC Club.

Perhaps Google could start using these cars to carry their Street View equipment around? Compared to brand-new, bright red hybrid Priuseses, a fleet of old Pacers might attract less attention from John Law.

Headrests are for squares of course.  Stay safe in your two-ton fishbowl!

Tiny Moppet Gets into Yoga, via the San Francisco Health Plan.

Thursday, May 29th, 2008

This toddler on the side of a MUNI bus on San Francisco’s Market Street is shown all by her lonesome finding inner peace via yoga in the shadow of the Golden Gate Bridge. (Thank goodness all the trash was removed by that “Save the Bay” shooting crew.)
