Heh: Rincon Hill Blogger Jamie Whitaker Pwns RPD Director Phil Ginsburg Using Math – And He Shows His Work

Monday, May 13th, 2013

Comes now the passionate and brusque Jamie Whitaker of Rincon Hill to totally pwn Recreation and Park Department Director and UC Hastings grad and Gavin Newsom lackey Phil Ginsburg.

“One issue that I am hopeful someone will take up is the claim by the Recreation and Parks Department’s Director Phil Ginsburg that “We want as much open space as possible, but we also need to have a way to care for it.” That was his quote in reference to why the City’s Recreation and Parks Department is unwilling to accept the donation of the park built in front of the new Rincon Green Apartments at 333 Harrison Street. Read the article here (hopefully, the shared full article will appear: http://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Creating-new-park-no-picnic-for-broke-city-4490422.php?t=27ec6d327d3f99889e

“This is a lie from Phil Ginsburg and it should infuriate everyone who lives in the Rincon neighborhood or nearby.  Why do I say it is a lie?”

Read the rest of this over at Rincon Hilla san francisco neighborhood blog.”

Hey, speaking of Gavin Newsom lackey Phil Ginsburg, a few years back he had a total boner for this nearby project at Justin Herman and yet NOBODY HAS EVER USED IT EXCEPT FOR OCCUPY SF FOR A FEW MONTHS.

Gavin Newsom lackey Phil Ginsburg must be aware, I mean he’s not stupid, that this bocce thing was/is a big fat waste, but he’s afraid to acknowledge this because then he’d have to get a job in the real world.

Oh well…

Restored Bocce Ball Courts at Justin Herman Plaza – Unused Since OccupySF – Wouldn’t a Playground Be Nicer?

Friday, January 25th, 2013

Hell yes.

But for some reason, former Mayor Gavin Newsom moved Heaven and Earth to get this useless monument to Eurocentrism installed before he left office.

And then nobody used it so Occupy took it over.

And then it got restored.

Like a year ago.

And nobody’s used it since.

Hachi Machi, It’s Time for Bocce! Rec and Park Rolls Out New Grass on Site of Historic OccupySF 2011 in JHP

Friday, January 6th, 2012

You see, the Occupiers put their tents on the bocce court grass last year. So that killed the turf.

This was the scene yesterday as the new turf came in:

All that’s left to do is clean up the Bradley Manning stickers and then, once again, San Francisco’s at-risk Rich White People will have a place to keep busy and stay out of trouble.

You know, there was talk of putting in a playground here, you know, for kids, but RWP didn’t like that idea so much.

Oh well.

Stickers on the Bocce Ball Courts are All That’s Left of OccupySF: “MAKE BANKS PAY” Plus “Free Bradley Manning”

Are people really going to play bocce here, on the site of OccupySF, again?

Has the Former Location of OccupySF Now Become a Place for Rich City Workers to Park Their Jaguars?

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

Why yes, yes it has.

See?

This is the area betwixt the bocce ball courts and Don Chee Way, right where OccupySF used to be until Mayor Ed Lee cleared the place out:

Isn’t it sad that all those hippies camping out for all those months left City workers no place to park their luxury English motorcahs, you know, for free?

“Toxic Soil” From the Former OccupySF Encampment at Justin Herman Plaza Hauled Off – New Turf Rolls Out Tomorrow

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

Do you know how many dogs died at OccupySF? I don’t but that’s Topic A whenever you discuss OccupySF with any member of our “City Family” these days.

The bocce ball courts are still shut down as DPW and RPD and who knows who all else set about fixing the place up and generating a seven-figure clean-up bill.

The old turf was put in four months ago. Mulching for the new turf:

Bocce Ball Courts Go Into Justin Herman Plaza Just Under the Wire – New Area Residents Not Organized Enough to Stop It

Monday, November 15th, 2010

All’s I can say about this one is that we’ll have to wait and see how it works out. Deets below.

You know who likes today’s news? It’s Benji Tosi, American Grand Champion:

As seen in San Francisco Magazine, back in the day

MAYOR NEWSOM BREAKS GROUND ON BOCCE BALL COURTS AT JUSTIN HERMAN PLAZA

San Francisco, CA—Mayor Gavin Newsom today joined community partners including Laborers Local 261, salesforce.com, and Webcor Builders and seven-time U.S. Bocce Ball Champion Benji Tosi to break ground on two regulation size bocce ball courts in the south lawn of Justin Herman Plaza along the City’s waterfront.

“These two new bocce ball courts are a great example of activating unused public space,” said Mayor Newsom. “This innovative public-private partnership shows creativity in finding solutions to positively impact our City as a whole and help foster a community of new bocce ball lovers.”

Ever more deets, after the jump.

Look Forward to Bocce or Volleyball on Masonic Avenue, But There are Signs of Rebellion Against City Plans

Friday, October 1st, 2010

Uh oh, for the first time at one of these Masonic Avenue meetings in the Western Addition, I met people who are pissed at the whole process. And these are people who are nearby residents.

(Whenever the City gets around to doing outreach with the stakeholders who currently use Masonic, well, there could be some more opposition still.)

Get some of the deets of last night’s meeting over at The Square website (but keep in mind the dollar amounts mentioned there are off by three orders of magnitude).
