WTF? sfRecParkTV is Indescribable – It’s Both Over- and Under-Produced – My Grandmother Would Do a Better Job

Friday, May 6th, 2011

My grandmother with an iPhone.

First off, RPD, you need to cut down on the computer duster huffing* on Saturday mornings, m’kay? M’kay.

Second of all, why can’t you play it straight? Ask yourself, “How does artificial vignetting serve the viewer?” How do these video effects and old-timey tunes do any good?

And how much do all these crappy videos cost? Are we paying for them? Do they cost $100k the way Rielle Hunter‘s** did?

And there are just 15 viewers so far?

(I’ll tell you, you can get people to do this kind of “work” for free. Srsly.)

Y en realidad, the Cardinal & White Spring Game at Kezar Stadium is pretty much a Stanfoo-only thing. Just saying.

And oh, Stanford won this year.

Hurray!

*That’s a, as is typical, fairly accurate portrayal from South Park. I don’t believe in television, but man, if you get a chance to see Allison from that Intervention show. Wow, it’s riveting.

**Fake name, of course. “Hunter.” Nice.

OMG, See Stanford Play Against Stanfurd at Kezar Stadium – It’s Stanfoo’s Cardinal and White Football Game 2011!

Saturday, April 9th, 2011

If you just looooove Stanfoo, then the annual Cardinal & White football scrimmage is for you today.

This year, it features terrible techno music. Per NickKord:

“I can hear the Stanford band practicing at Kezar Stadium. They sound awful. Not that I’m biased. #gobears @cal

Well that’s not nice!

QB Andrew Luck, as seen at last year’s C&W:

Trees vs. Trains: High Speed Rail Project Threatens Stanford’s Iconic Redwood – “El Palo Alto” is Directly in the Path

Friday, November 5th, 2010

El Palo Alto, aka the Stanford Tree, is smack dab in the way of California’s High Speed Rail project, according to Doug Ray over at the Peninsula Press.

Appears as if the NIMBY’s of counties San Mateo and Santa Clara are gaining speed in the battle of HSR – how much will it take to buy them off?

El Palo Alto, back in the day. It’s still there, for now:

Will CA HSR run over Stanfoo’s famous, fun-loving mascot?

Stanford’s Cardinal and White Spring Football Game at Kezar Stadium a Huge Success

Saturday, April 17th, 2010

Thousands of Stanford University fans turned up at Kezar Stadium today for the annual Cardinal and White game:

“In keeping with past practice, Coach Jim Harbaugh used a draft to divide the roster into Cardinal and White teams. Assistant Lance Anderson, who will coach the Cardinal, had the first pick and took quarterback Andrew Luck. Assistant Tim Drevno, who will coach the White, was then given three selections. It’s a full-contact scrimmage for everyone except Luck, who is off limits to tacklers.”

This was a big deal – Mayor Newsom went and declared today “Stanford Football Day in San Francisco”

It all happened beneath UCSF medical school and our cardinal and white Sutro Tower:

They even brought up 16 cheerleaders, who rooted for both sides.

Oh, here he is, #12, Cardinal QB Andrew Luck

He looks like an intense Tom Cruise, except taller. Let’s see how he does over the next third of a second.

Success, as Tight End Zach Ertz catches a bullet.

O.K. then. Do people actually gamble on this game? Apparently.

See you next year! (Maybe)

Tomorrow’s Big Game Might be the Best Ever, If You Can Find It On TV

Friday, November 20th, 2009

Tomorrow’s Big Game between the Stanfurd Cardinals (or Trees or whatevur) and the University of California Golden Bears might prove to be the best one yet, what with both sides being in the Top 25 for the first time ever. You ought to tune in and see if the coaches are all, “What’s your deal man? No, what’s your deal, man?”

Uh oh, which channel? Versus? (I don’t know, back in the days of analog TV everything was simple, remember?)

Now they can’t play at the Haight Street Grounds (good name for a coffee shop, non?) anymore cause The Man tore it down and put up houses,  so Palo Alto’s Stanford Stadium will have to suffice. Log on or tune in at 4:30 PM, even if you don’t like college football.

Here’s the lineup. First Cal
