Myself, I’ll be spending September 7th putting superglue in the 3.5mm TRS headphone connector of my Samsung Galaxy, in sympathy with my Apple-using Brothers and Sisters:

And now, one more thing: j/k. Enjoy your new headphones, your Blueteeth. I’m sure they’ll work most of the time. And if not, well, just throw all your stuff and buy some more shiny from Big A – you’re worth it, you deserve it…

SFGov Embraces the Term UNITY As If We Were North Korea – HANC Recycling —> “CommUNITY Gardens?” – And “Unity Plaza?”

Thursday, August 20th, 2015

Is this a joke?

Gentle Reader, check out this recent bit from Calvin Welch in Tim Redmond’s 48 Hills to see how much UNITY there was in getting rid of the recycling center.

So that’s STRIKE ONE.

And what of this, also in the news yesterday:

“Unity Plaza” brings “communities and city leaders together under one roof.” The Unity Plaza, named through a partnership with the community…

So it’ll be something like, “Meet me at Unity Plaza, where San Franciscans and our City Family are as One, Comrade.” (And then Comrade Two will be all, “Oh, you mean Balboa BART? C U THERE, All Hail Our Dear Leader.”)

And there’s your STRIKE TWO.

Let me tell you, if your political faction has 55%-60% of the electorate, then that’s like the OPPOSITE of UNITY, in’nt?

Amazingly, Our Local Postal Service Opens Its Doors Earlier on a Saturday Than UPS Does Monday Through Friday

Thursday, July 3rd, 2014

Here you go, here are the hours for USPS Clayton Station 94117 in the Upper Haight:

Compare that with the opening time for the big UPS Customer Center at 320 San Bruno Ave.

Well forget about Saturday ’cause the UPS aint even open on Saturdays. And M-F, the UPS begrudgingly opens at 9:30 AM.

I’ll tell you, a few decades back, UPS outperformed the Post Office in all aspects. But these days, for a lot of aspects, it’s hard to tell much of a diff.
