“We are opening a new branch office for our established personal injury firm in the Mission. We need a part time receptionist who is fluent in Spanish and English. This position may grow to full time. Initially, duties will include answering phones, forwarding messages, drafting documents, client intake, helping clients with paper work, setting meetings for attorney, coordinating with our main office, and working with lead attorney. Experience in the legal field is not mandatory, but preferred. We will train the right candidate. You need to be reliable, and willing to learn quickly.
Pay will start at $10 per hour. Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail and punctuality are needed. Proficiency with Word is a must.
The hours will be Monday-Thursday 11:00 am-4:00 pm. Position is available now.

Sausage Showdown: Which McDonald’s Dollar Menu Item Makes the Best Piggy Breakfast?
Saturday, October 10th, 2009In honor of the recession and in light of the fact that fewer people are heading out to grab a quck bit before work these days, McDonalds added some items for breakfast on their Dollar Menu. I’ve never tried these actual products before but, you know, they all cost a buck and they all use sausage as the main degredient so let’s take a look.

Sausage Breakfast Burrito:
There’s not much inside this thing, excepting for molten cheese, which the Ronald crew calls “shredded” – tasted like American “cheese” to me. Could have used some spiciness, which was entirely lacking. Maybe I could have added some sauce, don’t know. They say there’s onion and peppers in there with the egg – couldn’t tell. Third place.
Sausage McMuffin:
The cheese is more solid on this one. It’s like eating a burger for breakfast. Adding in egg would make it a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, which is apparently quite a more expensive proposition. Second place.
Sausage Biscuit:
Tasty biscuit plus sausage, that’s all you get. A bit dry. In the parlance of our day, it is what it is. Doesn’t have American cheese and that’s probably a good thing. Pretty good deal for a dollar. I’d probably prefer an Egg McMuffin but the franchisees would most likely riot if corporate forced the Egg McM onto the Dollar Menu. Anyway, the Sausage Biscuit is the Dollar Menu Sausage Winner, by a nose.
Choose wisely.
Bikes + Cheese = Tour de Fromage 2009 from the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition
Saturday, May 30th, 2009It was reposted at funcheapSF.com, so it must be a great event – it was the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition‘s Tour de Fromage 2009. This report from last year will give an idea of the flavor of TdF.
The cheese hunt began this AM on the Golden Gate Park Panhandle bike path:
Due to popular interest, we’re riding this ride again! Goat, sheep, or cow? We love ‘em all! Join other happy, two-wheeled cheese appreciators for a visit to some of the city’s top fromage specialists. We’ll finish up with a cheese-sharing picnic at a nearby park. Don’t forget to bring cash for cheesy purchases from our local vendors.

People, Please Stop Buying from the Dollar Menu!
Friday, June 6th, 2008No, you can’t has double cheezburger. At least that’s what some McDonalds and Burger King franchisees would like to tell you when you only order off of the “dollar menu.” Why’s that, you say? Aren’t they making money off of the deal?
Well, sure they’re making money, but not as much as they’d like to wring out of you on each of your visits.

San Francisco used to have the World’s Smallest Burger King (but no longer, thanks to a Kramer-esque campaign). So you’ll have to search around for the Dollar Menu, but take advantage of this good deal while you can.
