Cindy Sheehan has kicked off her new radio show – Cindy Sheehan’s Soapbox every Sunday at 2:00 PM on Green 960 AM KKGN (fka Quake Radio) in the Bay Area. You see kids, the Amplitude Modulation radio was what we used to… well, forget all that.

Just check out the podcasts instead, if you want. So far, she’s had people like raging Tom Morello, Rosanne Barr and Graham Nash. And today she’ll have former San Francisco Supervisor Matt Gonzalez.

Cindy Sheehan Photo Shoot Successful Despite Campaign of Terror

Monday, October 20th, 2008

This was the scene today on the steps of San Francisco’s City Hall – a brief photo shoot that appeared successful despite the recent terror campaign directed towards Cindy Sheehan from Ma Bell, the Mayor of L.A., the Speaker of the House, and criminal elements of the Mission District:

“Starting with the necessity of ‘changing a light bulb’ (bugging my phone) in my hotel phone at the DNC (brought to you by AT&T) while I was out of the room…”

Listen Cindy, nobody bugged your phone and Nancy Pelosi isn’t spying on you. Just saying.

Cindy certainly had more acolytes in tow (about 14) today than on Election Day in June, when this other photo was taken.

Then they marched off to the south, to points unknown.

Peace Mom Cindy Sheehan Campaigning at the Steps of San Francisco’s City Hall.

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Cindy Sheehan and one of her intrepid supporters at the main entrance of City Hall during today’s primary election:

(She had at least two other boosters in the area talking with potential voters at this very moment.)

Cindy has been running against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the past eleven months, to the consternation of some. Back in the day, one wag called pushing for impeachment of George W. Bush the “Dumbest Move the Dems Could Make.” Shirley Golub and Cindy Sheehan obviously disagree with that.

But Nancy seems to be weathering this storm well:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, in her 10th term, easily beat back local Democratic activist Shirley Golub in San Francisco’s 8th Congressional District. With 100 percent of precincts reporting, Pelosi had 89 percent of the vote and Golub had 11 percent. Peace activist Cindy Sheehan is making plans to challenge Pelosi as an independent in November but was not on Tuesday’s primary ballot.

Hundreds and Hundreds Protest Against the War in San Francisco

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Both Senator Carole Migden and activist Sean Penn were scheduled to appear at the peace vigil yesterday to mark the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq. Migden spoke to the crowd, as did Cindy Sheehan and Matt Gonzalez, but Penn might not have made it due to production of the Milk movie.

It was a sell-out crowd, so organizers had to turn people away. There’ll be other chances this week, as the official fifth year anniversary of the war is March 19.

Update: You may find a complete account of the affair over at the CrackBerry Chronicles on Fog City Journal. Famous videographer Josh Wolf brought his you-know-what to record video of all the speakers. Bonus. Check it out.
