Not a pretty blue, an unnatural blue.
Other times, these ponds look more green or aqua.
I guess it’s because Rec and Park or whomever wants to cut down on the amount of light going in, but I can’t prove it to you.
Anyway, this pond looks blue to me IRL, if not so much in this photo:

OMG, it’s Google Bus #3 heading south on Van Ness Avenue past San Francisco’s City Hall. Next stop, Mountain View, CA
Gold! Real gold. Can you see it in the background? That’s the only flava to be seen in this shot:

You see, some people don’t like buses. They’re called NIMBYs. In the 415, they’re almost all rich, old, white people who have nothing else to do with their lives other than NIMBY. Oh well.
Anyway, Google is trying to keep a low profile, obviously. (I don’t know the current paint scheme of the Google jets, but I’ll bet it’s something more than just black and white. )
See below for other more colorful Google conveyances and appliances, spotted in San Francisco and Mountain View.
Well, here it is, the current generation Google Maps Car. (A Subaru, judging by the Pleiades icon on the nose – for some reason, Google stripped the badges from the rear of this car.)
Are there cameras and SICK laser range finders and WiFi detectors and whatnot on top of this Subie? Who knows…

And here’s what these rides looked like before they got wrapped:

And this was the first generation Map Car, seen getting busted by the Federal popo in the Presidio.

(I have dual sources supporting contradictory stories (so that’s four people promoting two completely different stories) on why this particular Googler got busted, or not busted as the case may be. Oh well. Did the Presidio Trust tell the Google to get a permit? And did Google ignore that request? Don’t know.)
And of course, don’t forget about the Google Bikes:

And the Google office:

And the Google Kitchen – it’s just like a 7-11 except shoplifting is encouraged:

And here’s the concomitant G-Toilet – it costs $700, it has over 20 buttons for its full operation, it’s made in Japan:

So that’s Google’s world.
Bon Courage, Googlers!

The hard-core NIMBYs at San Francisco Beautiful (our Comcast monopoly’s L’il Buddy) ended up going two for two yesterday in their crusade ensure that dial-up internet service is the best that some San Franciscans can get. That is, they won a stay from Superior Court Judge Harold Khan temporarily blocking the installation of AT&T sidewalk boxes and they’ll have no requirement to post a bond to keep their stay.
This is, of course, despite the fact that the Board of Supervisors recently approved the installation.
Let’s hear the reaction from AT&T Regional Vice President, Marc Blakeman:
“Residents across the City, as well as the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, have voiced support for competition and choice when it comes to TV, high speed internet and digital phone service.
Despite today’s decision to issue a temporary stay, AT&T believes it ultimately will prevail in the litigation and it remains committed to bringing San Francisco a next generation IP network.”
Which, you know, sounds good to me, but I’m not a NIMBY.
So, when you see these existing boxes, which Judge Khan has no control over, what’s your reaction? Do you say, well there’s graffiti on a telephone box or an electricity box or a mail box so we shouldn’t have telephones and we shouldn’t have electricity and we shouldn’t have mail service? I don’t know.

Let’s hear from the NIMBY side of things after the jump, but I warn you, it’s barely legible.
On It Goes…
