I’m failing to see any downsides on this one.
Drop on by highly-rated Greenburger’s at 518 Haight Street, why not?

Who knows how many burgers they’ll give away…

If you give Groupon-ish Scoutmob your email address this AM, they’ll send you a code for a free sausage at Rosamunde Sausage Grill at 2832 Mission, which is just south of 24th Street.
See?

(I’m not President George Bush, but I _do_ endorse this message)
Get a move-on before this deal goes away.

[UPDATE: Oh man, Andy Wright and Marie McIntosh from the The Bay Citizen get into it, I mean, they really get into it. C'mon! El Gappo ofrece simple tacos, chicas!]
OMG, it’s back in the Financh today, Wednesday, August 17th, 2011, but for a limited time only.
Check it:
“Lunch at 615 Sacramento St., between Montgomery & Kearny! Stay tuned for our doors up tweet!”
I figure they’ll open around elevenish this AM. Limit four tacos per person.
But this deal is just too sweet, just too much of a bargain, so get there before they run out of tacos. (I mean, don’t show up at 1:00 PM expecting them to still be open is what I’m saying. Maybe, but who knows.)
This is a 100% certified great deal. All hail our corporate overlords at The Gap, Inc.
All the deets:
Well, here it is, straight outta West Pico Blvd, it’s the Pico de Gap Taco Truck!
Check out the sked on Twitter to find it around town to score two tacos plus a bottle of Mexican Coke or a similar such fruity drink for just $1.69, which is redolent of 1969, the year the first Gap store opened up on Ocean Boulevard.
See? This lovely Gap Gal is holding all four available tacos (designed just for S.F. by famous Top Chef “cheftestant” Ryan Scott) plus a $20 off coupon for “1969″ jeans:

Your choices:

- 1. Chorizo and Crispy Potato Taco with goat cheese, watercress, and charred lime salsa verde
- 2. Mole-braised brisket Taco with pumpkin seeds, red onion marmalade, queso fresco, and Mexican chocolate vinaigrette
- 3. Raw Yellow Corn “Ceviche” Taco with dirty green rice, poblano aioli, guacamole, and charred tomato salsa
- 4. California taco with pasilla-braised chicken, Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, pepper jack cheese, and Cool Ranch Doritos
And here’s a close-up, 4,2,1,3 I think:

They’re all delish.
Here’s what it looked like in the Hayes Valley a few days back:

Hurray!

[UPDATE: Whoops. The good phones are $479 - so take away $430 and you're paying $50 for the phone (assuming you're signing up for a two-year contract) plus The Man takes close to $50 in sales tax away from you. I guess that's close to being free. Unlimited data, two phones = something like $100/mo before taxes.]
I don’t know, but there’s some coupon you members got in the mail that says “up to $430 off” or whatnot – it runs through April 3, 2011.
(I don’t know, does T Mobile work as well as the all-time-grand-champion Sprint network in the 415? Signs point to no, so far. But your phone will switch over to WiFi seamlessly at home so that’s half the battle right there. And outdoors, T Mobile’s doing A-OK with wicked fast performance.*)
Go see manager Nick in the kiosk at the SoMA Costco** and then, You Make The Call over whether this is a good deal or not.

*Not that that matters too much. I’ll tell you, my old-school Sprint smart phone never dropped a call and always worked everywhere all the time (except for the basement of the State Building and your typical elevator). Until that traffic accident, it was doing fine – RIP, Palm 900-something with free unlimited data plan. Maybe I got spoiled with the Sprint network.
**They have more than just T Mobile, of course, but I don’t know all which ones.

I don’t know, LivingSocial has this deal today, but isn’t this the same store that had major problems last year with a Group-On offer they had?
Yes it is.
Hey, That Takes the Cake Store, weren’t you guys acting pretty cheesily last year? Aren’t you horrible local businesspeople? Yes and yes.

“They were horribly rude about redeeming my Groupon. I can tell from other reviews that I’m not the only one. The whole point of participating in Groupon as a loss leader is to get new customers to try you, and come back. By treating me like shit, you just ate $20 only to ensure I will never return. Nice work. This city is practically infested with cupcake places; I don’t need to patronize one with awful customer service. Also, their “cocktail” cupcakes are GROSS. Blech.”
Karma Police, arrest this store.
P.S. Cupcakes are on their way out, haven’t you heard?

Is there some law that says AT&T is required to deliver waaaaaaay too many phone books to San Francisco households every year? Could be.
If there is, wouldn’t it be easier for all concerned if instead of leaving all these unwanted phone books out in the rain for day after day, week after week, AT&T could just have its workers deliver them directly to the recycling bins out back?

What’s that, AT&T? People still love your phone books? No they don’t.
Obviously, there’s profit to be had, somehow, in this annual exercise, so oh well.

I’m already on the record about my opinion of Oktoberfest by the Bay, that annual joint held at Pier 48 in the SoMA. However, I’m compelled to cheer about that fact that this year’s event (which, for some reason, will go down in September, from the 23rd to the 26th) will have slightly lower ticket pricing.
It’s up to you all to decide: OBTB, Is It Worth It?
(I’ll also note that their Yelp rating is fairly low, despite some fairly obvious five-star shilling from 20% of the Yelpers voting.)

Anyway, hurray for lower pricing. And check out their coupon/discount deals on the less popular days.
As always, be on the look out for the Jagermeister Jagerettes:

via Augie Schwer
They’ll be sure to have expensive test tubes full of der Jager for sale, assuming they show this year:

Or you can go the cheap route and get pre-loaded before entrance. Your choice:

See you there! (Maybe.)

I’ll tell you, last year, Zog’s Dogs had a giveaway – it wasn’t no thang. But this year’s Free Dog Day was publicized on SFist and SFGate, San Francisco’s online newspaper, so the queue was as high as an elephant’s eye.
See? This was the scene in the morning, with the line stretching beyond view before the lunch hour even began.

Now, EaterSF has the deets on this afternoon’s mayhem. It was dog eat dog out there, apparently.
Bon Courage, Zog’s Dogs!
