Huge Protest at Chinese Consulate Marks 50 Years of Tibetan Exile

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

A crowd of about 400 (300 per AP, seemed a bit more than that though) is marching all around San Francisco today – see them in front of the always-busy Chinese Consulate below. To get up to speed, here’s a nice bit from Matt O’Brien about the 50th anniversary of the failed uprising that led to the exile of the Dalai Lama.

Keep up on developments at SF Team Tibet, the International Support Tibet Network, Save Tibet, the Tibetan Association of Northern California, and Students for a Free Tibet. The candlelight vigil will start at 5:00 PM in Union Square.

The Feds, fresh from the Sunglass Hut. Apparently, one of them lost a bet so he had to shave off his facial hair:

Not sure what this means:

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

That’s not nice. But that’s what Xinhua (formerly known as Red China News Agency) just said. For the record, Xinhua reports directly to the Communist Party of China‘s Public Information Department.

Now, that’s no way to run a Genocide Olympics. Can’t we all get along?
