Christina Olague, 2012, after helping the San Francisco Republican Party elect so-called “interim” Mayor Ed Lee to a four-year term through her efforts with the Rose Pak-backed Run Ed Run organization:

Via Mayor Ed Lee

Give me an “S!”

“S!”

Give me an “E!”

“E!”

And so on.

Hey, you can meet her tonight at Martin Macks bar:

“D5DC is happy to announce that Supervisor Christina Olague, recently appointed District 5 Supervisor, will be joining the District 5 Democratic Club this Wednesday to discuss her priorities for our community this year! We are excited for this opportunity to meet and mingle with our new Supervisor. Please join us Wednesday!”

When:
January 25, 2012 – 7pm-9pm
Where:
Martin Macks, 1568 Haight Street , San Francisco
Join our event on Facebook!

Now, former Mayor Willie Brown contends that Christina has been allowed to vote against Mayor Ed Lee already, you know, so she’ll appear to have not become a sellout. Mmmmmm.

Either Ed Lee has made a mistake or C.O. is a sellout, it’s got to be one or the other.

We’ll see.

District 5 Democratic Club Inaugural Fundraiser and Holiday Party at Cafe Divis Tonight, Featuring Ross Mirkarimi

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

The latest iteration of the District Five Democratic Club is having a big kick-off party tonight starting at 6:30 PM – won’t you join them?

(I’ll add that if you want to meet the next D5 Supervisor, then you should drop by as s/he is almost sure to be there.)

The D5 Dems meeting at Calvin Welcheseses’ place on Shrader last month:

Now I say latest iteration because there have been other clubs with the same name back in the day. For example, D5 Dems was the original name of the City Democratic Club of San Francisco:

I remember the remnants of the losing campaign to re-elect Joe Freitas District Attorney, gathering in the apartment of Don Dissler to talk about how we could take the moderate centrist ideals and ambitions of our small political family (we always called it “The Family” back then) and channel them into some political action. Before the night was over we had created the District 5 Democratic Club”

And more recently, District Five Democratic Club was the name of a front group for Senator Carole Migden.

But that was then and this is now. So get all the deets below and after the jump:

“Greetings District 5 Democratic Club Members,

Join your fellow members of the District 5 Democratic Club (D5DC) at our inaugural fundraiser and Holiday Party, hosted by District 5 Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi!

Aaron Peskin Wins Again – New Leader of the Democratic County Central Committee

Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008

San Francisco Supervisor Aaron Peskin is now Chair of the San Francisco Democratic Party. About 150 people witnessed tonight’s election of the leader of the local Dems.

Here is a full account of the evening, and here is an even fuller one. And here is a neutral account.

“Swing voter” Susan Leal, representing California State Assembly Member Fiona Ma, stood up to give her reasons for supporting Mr. Peskin:

Local electeds Debra Walker and Tom Hsieh might have been on opposite sides tonight, but they managed a friendly knuckle knock regardless:
