These new SmartCars are parked willy-nilly all over town these days, on the sidewalks, in red zones, wherever.
Why? It’s ’cause some of the drivers of these vehicles think , “I can park anywhere!” (I’m srsly, that’s literally what they’ll tell you. They’re proud.)
So when they get to their destinations, they figure they’ll just make it fit, they’ll find a place.
As here, where a women in the Western Addition NoPA area tried to park three yards of Smart ForTwo into a curb space between two driveways that, well, just take a look:

So, you Smart Car drivers should smarten up and fly straight.
And count your blessings that practices such as Smart Tipping and Smart Tossing haven’t taken root here…

Even a Mini Cooper would have trouble parallel parking in this space, but a red fortwo from smart had no trouble at all. Now the driver has full access to the Clement street shopping district. And it appears to be parked legally, unlike some other smarts in town these days that park 90 degrees the wrong way.

It was on this morning at the OFFICIAL 2008 NorCal Region SMART RALLY & Lombard St. Photoshoot in San Francisco. The whole thing was just like critical mass, but for cars instead of bikes.
How many Smart Cars can fit into one block of Lombard Street in scenic Russian Hill? This many, or about a hundred-something as long as you park them six inches apart and side-by-side, as if they are loading onto Noah’s Ark. Kiltbear ably captured the mise-en-scene.
