Somewhere down there in Silicon Valley / San Jose is California’s 15th Congressional District, represented by Congressman Mike Honda, O.K. fine.
Now, this is, or used to be, or still sort of is his official photo, possibly taken in Washington D.C., possibly a digital image that got scanned in, O.K. fine.
Now, was he wearing a white shirt that day? Honda in Bleu:

Can’t tell.
Oh, here were go. This alteration assumes he was wearing a white shirt and that his white hairs are, in fact, white, or colorless or whatever you want to call it. A few clicks yields:

Probably a bit on the purple side but oh well.
But this is what a professional illustrator did, taking things a bit further, white balance-wise and clicks-wise:

Point being, you can’t just scan in a photo and call it day, you gots to make sure that white is still white.
That is all.

What I thought was a giant topiary bunny in the Panhandle of Golden Gate Park might not be a bunny at all.
The reverse angle view is inconclusive – I can make out the bunny ears and cotton tail but I can’t explain the camel hump.

Well here it is, way out in the Middle Richmond District- it’s a Patrick Nagel print from Yelp-rated Vladimir’s Beauty Salon, as seen at 6340 Geary Boulevard entre les avenues 27 et 28.
Won’t you agree that “Patrick Nagel’s artwork is ‘so 80′s’“?

Here’s a little more 311 about the background of this Beauty Shop Nagel:
“Nagel’s figures generally have black hair, bright white skin, full-lipped mouths, and the distinctive Nagel eyes, which are often squared off in the later works. Because of the intense stylization and reduction of facial features into clean lines, generally the figures resemble each other.”
“While Nagel’s work is mostly represented by aloof, if also seductive women, they are rarely, if ever, presented in a submissive relationship with men.”
“Nagel’s artwork strongly influenced the illustration and clip art of the late 1980s and illustrations of women strongly resembling those seen in Nagel’s art were widely used in hair and nail salons and other beauty-oriented businesses.”
