Soul Slam IV: Prince vs. Michael Jackson – The Final Battle in San Francisco Tomorrow

Friday, September 18th, 2009

Soul Slams I, II, and III ended without a clear winner, but tomorrow, well, things should be different. I mean if Michael Jackson can’t win Soul Slam IV this year, of all years, well, then he never will. Now, the King of Pop has the height but Prince, he has the reach so keep that in mind tomorrow night when you’re wagering at the musical squared circle that is the Mezzanine at Triple Four Jessie in the SoMA, doors at 9:00 PM.

And remember, early-ass arrival is “highly suggested.” It’s Going to be on, per Tamara Palmer

Free, Entirely Un-Yuppie “Doin It In The Park 2009″ Party a Huge Success in Golden Gate Park

Monday, September 7th, 2009

It was featured on Broke Ass Stuart’s Gosh Darn Website (remember him? He saved Bay to Breakers 2009, or something, pictured here in orange necktie) so you had to go. Doin’ It In the Park 2009 went off without a hitch in Golden Gate Park‘s Elk Glen Cove yesterday.

What’s this? A late 60′s / early 70′s muscle car? The owner simply can’t be from San Francisco, as the only time you see such cars in the 415 is when Hollywood comes to town, ala the dreadful old Nash Bridges show or the horrible new Trauma show.

Free burgers, hot dogs and imitation cheese - that’ll certainly keep the YUPs away. Tinted fogglasses were the order of the day:

Urban headgear, digital cameras (note two-fisted style, a sure bet to catch all the action for the MySpace), $2.00 40′s of beer, and maybe even a little ganga that didn’t find its way to Burning Man:

Look at all the people!

See you there next year!
