Now I’ll tell you, I haven’t seen Diva and Dude lately, but I still have time to find them.
Lucky Supermarket, Fulton Street, Western Addition, San Francisco, California, USA:

I still have time…
That’ll keep me busy, so I’ll let Academia do all the heavy lifting:
“First, notice that the bunnies are gendered. “Diva Da’ Bunny” is a movie star (Bling! Bling!) and Dude Da’ Bunny likes to jam to his ipod, play video games, and ogle girl bunnies. Notice also how the dude bunny, with his giant gold medallion and hip hop clothes, is charactered as urban or “street,” maybe even Black. Do kids these days need to be bribed with gendered and racialized caricatures to get them to eat chocolate!? Somehow I doubt it.”
Closing with a scene from Dude’s one-man-show.
Happy Easter!

Oh noes! “Libidinous” wild turkeys are still raising all kinds of heck in bucolic Marin County. That’s something to think about on this long holiday weekend.
“They seem to like shiny vehicles, especially Mercedes-Benzes. The males in particular like to look at their reflections.”
They think they’re people!
I’M IN UR WATERSHED, ATTACKING UR MERCEDESES. This boid is breaking bad:

And here we go, believe it or not, this critter lives/lived in City of San Jose, just out running around. (Up here in the 415, we’re a little more tophisticated, of course.)

Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your turkey!
(But I prefer chicken.)

[We already have a winner. Thank you, drive through.]
This is exactly how this shot ended up being framed – had the wrong lens on and not much time. Anyway, if you examine the several clues* and then make a guess, you’ll be proved correct, most likely.
The Happy Gingers of San Francisco:

*Including the fact that, IMO, you can easily guess – that’s a clue too.

When you’re in training for the rigorous straight-outta-British Columbia Justin Herman Plaza Zipline, well, you need to exercise and eat right.
And after your work out, what could more entertaining than noshing on this still-life tabletop tableau?
See? The gorgeous green Granny Ramsey Smith* apples** are the eyes. They’re from the Yakima Valley, all the way up there near the aforementioned B.C., Canada.
Does the fact that they are from a thousand li away upset you?

Should that upset you?
*Call them “baking apples” and I’ll cut you. Super-crunchy Grannies like these are for eating, not baking.
**Leave us not discuss Costco’s bananas in the 415 area. They are consistently substandard, IMO.

Via the beloved Laughing Squid blog (which is celebrating its fifth anniversary today - congratulations to the King of All Webhosts!) comes this link to The Big Picture showing New Year celebrations from around the world.
And this below is what the fireworks performance around the Ferry Building looked like early this morning via the camera of sebastiansuk, who now has a nice set of photos to remember his visit to San Francisco.

Would having people in these fireworks photos (plus seeing their names and hometowns) appeal to you? Well then click here.

The three youths here sleeping through mid-morning rain in the Upper Haight area typify some of the homeless of San Francisco. These Alexander Supertramps carry backpacks and sleeping bags, just like campers at a national park.
Three teens at Clayton and Page, just two blocks away from the landmark Ben and Jerry’s: Click to expand:

And here’s the remnants of a campground kitchen in the nearby Golden Gate Park Panhandle:

And here are your facilities (trucked in all the way from Kentucky) – it’s the Panhandle bathroom near Ashbury Street. It looks just like what some Yosemite Park campers get.

So that’s Urban Camping as practiced by the youths of Hashbury.

Well this go around might have been a little foggy, but check out the slide show from years past to get an idea of what San Francsico fireworks look like when Parent Nature is a little more cooperative
