This was the scene the other day at the LGBT Center at a Harvey Milk Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Democratic Club meeting in support of Community Choice Aggregation.

San Francisco’s Harvey Milk Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Democratic Club is hosting a Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) Town Hall tonight at the LGBT Center on the corner of Market and Octavia. CCA is:
“a system adopted into law in the states of Massachusetts, Ohio, California, New Jersey and Rhode Island which allows cities and counties to aggregate the buying power of individual customerswithin a defined jurisdiction in order to secure alternative energy supply contracts. Currently, nearly 1 million Americans receive service from CCAs.”
The special guests will be Assembly Bill 117 (2002) author Carole Migden, District 5 Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, District 9 Supervisor David Campos and San Francisco Bay Guardian Executive Editor Tim Redmond.

Celebrating 35 Years of Progressive Political Action and Fighting for our Communities
San Francisco Supervisors David Campos, David Chiu, John Avalos and Eric Mar all addressed members of the Harvey Milk Gay Bisexual Transgender Democratic Club the other night at the LGBT Center on Market Street.
The freshmen emphasised the importance of adding progressive women to their group, and they just might get that from Districts 6 and 10 after the November elections next year.

Our 2007 Civic Center Christmas / Holiday tree had a big Star of Bethlehem on top all the way through the season.
Our 2008 tree had a star that came and went.
And now, our 2009 tree has no star at all. Oh well. Looks a little plain now, huh?

If you like holiday trees, head to City Hall, where Rita Moreno (ask about her Grammy, Oscar, Emmy,and Tony) will star at the Rainbow World Fund Tree of Hope 2009 lighting celebration.
“Come to the tree lighting celebrationat City Hall with Mayor Gavin Newsom. Join us as we gather wishes and hopes for the future of our global community and give them wings. The event takes place on the rotunda inside San Francisco City Hall and features a concert by the San Francisco Boys Chous, Veronica Klaus and more. Free beverages and light refreshments.
Send a wish to the Rainbow World Fund and they’ll turn it into an origami crane which they’ll add to the tree.

There will be a ceremony and candlelight march to honor Harvey Milk and Mayor George Moscone tonight at the intersection of 17th Street and Market. See the Harvey Milk Club’s website for the latest.

Please join us tonight at 6 PM at the Castro Muni Stop for a ceremony to commemorate their lives and legacies, followed by a candlelit march.”

San Francisco’s Harvey Milk Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Democratic Club had an endorsement election down at the Women’s Building in the Mission District last night. Here’s the upshot, via the Twitter:
“Harvey Milk Dems have endorsed Mandelman in D8, Walker in D6 and Goldstein for College Board. Many thanks to all of you who turned out!”

Well it’s here. The Bay Area blog from the New York Times is finally here, along with a new Bay Area Edition for the newspaper. And, like some other famous New Yorkites (such as Harvey Milk, Bill Graham and Senator Carole Migden), the NYT has offended the locals of San Francisco upon arrival. Oh well.
