2011 World Premieres
SF Ballet Artistic Director & Principal Choreographer Helgi Tomasson’s 2011 Repertory Season world premiere will be entitled TRIO. Set to Tchaikovsky’s Souvenir de Florence, the work will premiere on Program 4.
SF Ballet Choreographer in Residence Yuri Possokhov’s 2011 world premiere, RAkU, is set to a commissioned score by SF Ballet Orchestra member Shinji Eshima, and will premiere on Program 2 of the 2011 Repertory Season.
Additionally, Christopher Wheeldon has announced that his world premiere, scheduled for Program 7, will be entitled Number Nine. For more information, visit:http://www.sfballet.org/2011season.
This December, KQED will once again broadcast San Francisco Ballet’s Nutcracker on December 22 at 8pm, December 23 at 2am, December 24 at 12pm, and December 25 at 1pm. For details, visit http://budurl.com/nutKQED.
The program, which originally aired on December 17, 2008, features Helgi Tomasson’s production, filmed on stage in performance at the War Memorial Opera House. The broadcast was co-produced by San Francisco Ballet and KQED Public Television San Francisco, in association with Thirteen/WNET New York.
