Whistling-Blowing Park Ranger Harshes Owner of Unlicensed, Unleashed Dog in the Golden Gate Park Panhandle

Friday, April 8th, 2016

Camera left shows the Ranger and camera right shows the errant dog owner.

I’ve never seen this:

Reader Notes:

I’m assuming the dog’s unlicensed, as the vast majority of canines aren’t licensed in Frisco and I imagine the rate for non leash owning dog owners is lower still.

Don’t know if any woo woo or wee wee came out or if it was picked up.

The owner and dog sauntered away, with no threat of getting cited, it appeared.

Anyway, I’ve never seen this…

Oh, “DOG MANAGEMENT RULE BOUNDARY” Means “NO DOGS ALLOWED” AT ALL on Ocean Beach in the Sunset? Oh

Thursday, February 25th, 2016

Yeah, me right near the beach
Right near my reach is the fire for the streets
If the feds test me, me gwan take aim
Crunch like Nestle, Snipe from the planes
Snipe like Wesley, punch like Hawaiian
Snipe from the planes, yeah we shoot while we flying

Take a look, here’s what our Feds have planned for Ocean Beach:

Or, IOW, San Francisco is for plovers:

Let’s take a look to some of the reasons why the Feds want to protect things and critters from dog owners. Here are some Western Snowy Plovers up north at Crissy Field:

Dogs mess with the boids, that’s the problem:

Now let’s head over to Ocean Beach. These aren’t snowy plovers, but the dogs don’t care:

Actually, that’s one of the beefs of some of the unhinged dog activists, that volunteers keeping track of these critters can’t tell a rare plover from a quite-common sanderling…

…but it’s real easy IRL.

Here we go, Ocean Beach again:

There are pros and cons to banning dogs from most of Ocean Beach of course.

But so far, attempts to fix things, like this…

The Devil Dogs of Corona Heights: A Standard Poodle

Friday, January 9th, 2015

Yowzer.

Corona Heights dogs be OOC, out-of-control, and I’m not even talking about all the poop being left around by thoughtless owners / guardians.

The owner of this pooch is probably oblivious, oh well. But I’ll tell you, at least one person in this photo was temporarily horrified by the poodle. Man, she looked pissed. And for good reason.

If this is the way Corona Heights Park is operating, then something is wrong with Corona Heights Park.

Or, in other words:

“The dog people own this park; it’s not for kids or anyone else who doesn’t enjoy seeing leash laws broken, dog piss everywhere, and taking the chance that one might bite your kid.”

Famous San Francisco street photographer Justin Beck has bounced back from losing his camera on the mean Streets of San Francisco, looks like.  He’s got another Nikon to work with so that’s nice.

Check it, a canary yellow streetcar.

Uh, Ocean Beach Dog Walkers, the Feds Just Don’t Care How You Vote – Federal Rules Come to the 415, Oh No!

Monday, June 13th, 2011

So why did we give land to the Feds for them to take care of if we don’t want them to take care of it?

What makes us special that we need an exemption from federal rules, an exemption that nobody in America outside of the bay area expects?

That’s the Question of the Day.

A snowy plover on Ocean Beach _not_ being harassed by a dog:

Now, Ocean Beach Dog, ooh, somebody over there got an off-leash ticket from the Feds a looooong time ago. (Can you guess what year by looking at the website design? Sure you can.) Oh well. Well, the Feds don’t like Ocean Beach Dog and people what behave like Ocean Beach Dog. The Feds consider us Whacko City, USA because of outfits like OBD, oh well.

Most dogs don’t bother the boids, of course. Can you see the snowy plover?

But some dogs do harass the birds. (These aren’t actually snowy plovers near Lawton and the Great Highway but the dogs don’t know or care about that.)

(Get those Ocean Beach birds, good boy!)

And here’s the sitch up in Crissy Field:

See the birds, see the unleashed dog?

Is is surprising to you that an unleashed dog could find and chase these plovers?

Oh well.
