San Francisco’s hungry raccoons are delighting the online world the world over, entertaining millions with their poses of masked banditry. And why not – aren’t they cute?
Here’s another view from the camera of shutterbug Stephen Thompson. It was 2:00 AM at the Legion of Honor museum:

And here’s the full story. Dude jogs around town in the midnight hour carrying his point-and-shoot camera in a sock. Bravo.
But these photos were taken in 2006. They hung around as 1’s and 0’s until Stephen posted them to Flickr a few months back. Then, they were noticed by the Fantastic Mr. Fox – Andrew Fox, Webmaster at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (FAMSF). He made a post to the FAMSF Facebook and then the rest is history.
Are these gorgeous but fiesty raccoons now the cutest animals in San Francisco?
Maybe.
But remember, we’ll always have Parrots.
The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill that is:

Thanks for posting your photos, Stephen Thompson.

At least, that’s what they say. Not recommended all the time, of course, but once in a while…
As seen in Lincoln Park:

Not sure who’s behind this bagel ritual at the plaza of San Francsico’s Lincoln Park, right near the Palace of the Legion of Honor.
Saw this type of scene a few times before. Maybe some raccoon or pigeon lover with a regular supply of old bagels is trying to a feeding using the railing of the overlook?
Dozens of bagels, ritually arrayed. What does it mean?

I like to think that Lincoln Highway enthusiasts buy bagels at Times Square at the start of their trips and then deposit the bagels in San Francisco as a gift of love.

Maybe…

Caught on film, that is. This cute raccoon felt right at home cruising around the grounds of the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco. Raccoons seem to love living on the streets of the City, so there’s a lot of them around. Especially at night.
The NIMBYs must have had a fit when they saw this glass pyramid on the grounds of a historic museum:

Sometimes, it’s a regular raccoon party up there. So be on the lookout for these “pushing hungry” critters the next time you’re doing an illicit midnight photo shoot at the ‘zeum.
The vary same bandit, from last year:

But San Francisco wants you to stay away from these wild animals, on account of the possibilty of them transmitting rabies. Fair enough.

No, it’s not an INVISABUL CATTY, it’s an electric golf caddy complete with handheld remote control. It looked like an R2D2 robot zooming all over the Lincoln Park Golf Club in San Francisco. This is lazy, but less lazy than getting a golf cart.

Those golfers love their gizmos, non?
