I think District Five Supervisor wannabee London Breed is still a little pissed off about not getting appointed Supervisor earlier this year, just a little:
“You think I give a fuck about a Willie Brown at the end of the day when it comes to my community* and the shit that people like Rose Pak and Willie Brown continue to do and try to controls things. They don’t fucking control me – you go ask them why wouldn’t you support London because she don’t do what the hell I tell her to do. I don’t do what no motherfucking body tells me to do.”
Hey, you think maybe she’s been watching YouTube, just a little?
Hey, you know, the two times when Mayor Ed Lee did a little independent thinking since Willie Brown and Rose Pak got him appointed Mayor are when he appointed the fairly stupid Christina Olague to replace Ross Mirkarimi and when he advocated for the complete non-starter “stop and frisk program.”
Perhaps he should just do what he’s told 100% of the time instead of 90% of the time?
Here’s the 411 from Luke Thomas from a few days back (in an article that also features Kat Anderson’s report from OccupyOAK):
“In San Francisco, Department of Public Works interim Director Mohammed Nuru revealed today City officials have offered OccupySF protesters an alternative location to setup camp. Though Nuru would not reveal the exact location, we understand the location to be a lot on the west side of Mission Street between 15th and 16th streets. A former school, the site has running water and bathrooms as well as classroom-type structures that could be used for organizational purposes. No word yet on whether OccupySF will take up the City’s offer but, we’re told, the offer has been accepted in good faith.”
When Mayor Ed Lee accepted the job as interim mayor in January, it was understood by the Board of Supervisors that he would not run for a full term. In fact, his promise of not running for a full term was the reason why the Board elevated a reluctant Lee to what was understood to be a caretaker position, to complete Gavin Newsom’s term as mayor.
Since his nomination, Lee has been asked on numerous occasions whether he would run and each time he has remained steadfastly unequivocal: he is a man of his word and will not run.
“I have been unequivocal like I am standing in front of you,” Lee said over a month ago when FCJ asked him if he remains unequivocal about not running. “I do feel some pressure these days and it’s like I am constantly getting those questions… there’s just so many people talking to me and I just have to keep warding them off.”
Click on over to the FCJ to see former Supervisor Chris Daly effectively offer support for the idea that the Mayor of San Francisco is running for the office of the Mayor of San Francisco.
Oh, and Chris is promoting the Let Ed Be webpage as well. Check the caption, below:
“Top Left: Willie Brown: the former Mayor and current lobbyist/columnist helped orchestrate the appointment of Ed Lee to the post of interim Mayor. Before this coup, many believed that Willie’s brand of pay to play politics had been exited from City Hall. Top Right, Rose Pak: the head of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Pak is a powerful political insider. Thought to be the mastermind behind the appointment of Ed Lee and the money behind the draft Ed Lee campaign. Bottom Right: Michael Yaki, a former Supervisor appointed by Willie Brown and lobbyist, made the first headlines with his “Draft Mayor Ed Lee Organizing Committee.” Bottom Left: Enrique Pearce, a political consultant with close ties to Rose Pak and Willie Brown, is the grease behind the latest Run Ed Run campaign. Last year, Pearce got in hot water for apparently coordinating an independent expenditure funding by Willie Brown to support a candidate whose campaign he was running.)”
Well, Supervisor Chris Daly leaves no doubt that he doesn’t want David Chiu, the President of the Board of Supervisors, becoming San Francisco’s next Mayor.
