Jerry Brown Kicks Off “Let’s Get California Working Again” Tour in Oakland This Morning – 12 More Stops All Over CA

Saturday, October 30th, 2010

Attorney General Jerry Brown was looking good at 7:30 this morning in Oakland – he was on hand with a crowd of a couple hundred to kick off his statewide “Let’s Get California Working Again” Tour. He’ll be on it all the way to election day.

“ We’ve got to work between now and Tuesday.  I’m going to go all over California and just speak the truth.  Tell it like it is – straight talk and optimism.  Because we’re Californians and we can do it.”

Here’s Carla Marinucci’s report.

As Jerry’s lean staff worked the press…

…Jerry greeted Congresswoman Maxine Waters:

His short talk covered lots of topics, including “elegant density,” the vitality of urbanity, basically:

Then Jerry left in a Pontiac – he was off to the Central Valley and points south, complete sked below.

“Team – I wanted to give you a quick update from the road.  Jerry just kicked off the “Let’s Get California Working Again” tour in Oakland this morning.  Great crowd, great event.

As Jerry said, “We’ve got to work between now and Tuesday.  I’m going to go all over California and just speak the truth.  Tell it like it is – straight talk and optimism.  Because we’re Californians and we can do it.”

We are going to make 12 more stops.  Please join us along the way and help us get out the vote.

Keep up the great work and hope to see you on the tour.

Thanks,

Steve

San Francisco 49ers Cancel Annual Lunch, But Family Day Goes Forward

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Here’s what the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce had to say when they found out the annual luncheon with the Niners ain’t gonna happen this year:

“Our main reaction is disappointment,” said Carol Piasente, the chamber’s vice president of communications and events.

(At least they’re taking it better than Otto West would.) Maybe last year’s chant led by Senator Dianne Feinstein played a factor in the cancellation?

Irregardless, KNBR 49er Family Day is ON this Saturday, June 7th.
