Well here’s something new – it’s “iCars” from that horrible Bauer company.
See?

That was the wind-up, now here’s the pitch:
“ iCars® service is a network of luxury cars, SUV’s and Mercedes Sprinter vans in San Francisco. This network is accessed through a sophisticated mobile application that allows riders to book and pay for on-demand, private and eco-Iuxury transportation service.
iCars® is managed by Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation, leveraging its transportation expertise and quality standards to ensure responsive, safe and superior transportation. iCars® service combines one of the best high-end transportation companies in the USA with the latest mobile technology to improve the ease and experience of on-demand transportation.
What is it? Luxury car service ordered “in the moment” for 1 to 12 passengers—in and around San Francisco, to SFO (San Francisco International Airport)
How to book? Through your smart phone—Apps available for iPhone and Android phones—reserve and pay online”
Hey Gary Bauer! Doesn’t your company(ies) kind of suck?
I think so!
I say that because your Yelp ratings are pretty low even including all those five-star shill reviews. Check it:
Bauer’s Limousine
Bauer’s Intelligent Transportation
What good does social media branding do if your service sucks?
And hey, speaking of Bauer’s social media branding and purported blogger Zennie62 / Zennie Abraham, what’s up with this?
“Note: Bauer’s Transportation is a Zennie62.com sponsor”
Is this arrangement still going on now? I don’t know.
It’s mighty interesting tho.
IMO.
Hey Gary Bauer! Isn’t a Sprinter van mostly a delivery vehicle? I think so. Do you really consider it a “luxury” vehicle?
Hey Gary Bauer! Why don’t you raise your rates so that you can improve your services so that your customers could be a little happier?
Just asking.
Bro-ham.

Two luxury cars, two handicapped placards, yet again:

Why is it that most Mercedes Benzeses you see parked on the street in the Financial District, you know, the 94111 and the 94104, have handicap placards hanging from the rear view?
Could it be that California’s handicapped placard system is being abused by wealthy bay area drivers who feel that parking should be cheaper and easier for them?
Yep.
Are you kind of a sucker for NOT having a handicapped placard considering that you could easily ask your doctor to sign the form for the DMV?
Yep.
Zoom zoom.

Now why did Lexus choose San Francisco, of all the cities of the world, as the place to debut its “Laws of Attraction” exhibit and to unveil it’s brand-new LS 460 F Sport model?
I don’t know, I guess we’re special.
Hey, look who was there, high atop the Metreon at City View:

It’s the Stars of the Lexus Laws of Attraction Photo Exhibit as they pose with the 2013 Lexus LS: (left to right) Jonathan Adler, Simon Doonan, Devon Aoki, James Bailey, Jaime King, Kyle Newman, Brady Cunningham and Jason Schwartzman.
Man, this Monday night party was off the hook – I was transformed from an overweight Dell Jockey into an overweight Dell Jockey at the City View:

Oh, and what’s this just outside but four stories up, a Lexus supercar, the likes of which I’ve only seen once before? How did they get this halo vehicle to the roof of the Metreon? Crane, chopper, ramps, giant elevator? It’s a mystery:

(You can’t just buy one of these, Lexus has to invite you to buy this $400,000 car. There’s just 500 in the world, that’s it.)
The place was packed, hundreds and hundreds of party-goers were up there:

Oh, here we go, the moment of unveiling:

Do people take iPads to parties to take photos these days? People do:

See the photos behind the car? That was the point of this shindig, deets below:

A good time was had by all, all the dolled-up gals from the east and south bay and all the older dudes from Marin…

If you ever get invited to a free party hosted by Lexus, jump at the chance, is all I can say.
Get all the deets, see all the art photos of the couples, see the new, sportier Lexus, see the new “spindle” grill, see the less-luxurious, performance-oriented SPORT F sedan, see it all, right here and/or after the jump.

See? The brand-new Mercedes Benz and the Lexus have blue placards but the Honda has to make do with just a red placard.
Financial District, San Francisco:

Why is it that every brand new Mercedes parked in San Francisco’s Financial District has a blue handicap placard hanging from the rear view? Are these things like a no-cost option or something?
The fact that no California physician has ever been disciplined in the slightest for improperly signing the DMV form in the history of the state puts a lot of pressure on area doctors. Everybody knows that they won’t get caught. It’s like all the doctor needs to do is write down his or her name once and that will earn said doctor a fan for life.
A long healthy life.
In a new Mercedes Benz.
With an improperly-gotten handicap placard.
Hurray! Free parking. For life!
And when those downtown core congestion charges come, then free driving. For life!

Maybe the perfect option for your luxury car is a handicapped placard?
Your license plate says that you’re an SF Resident, so of course a placard hanging from the rear-view:

Think about it – which is the better option? Something like Intuitive Parking Assist, which will park your car for you only after you’ve found a space, or a placard, which will allow you to park wherever you want all day for free?
I’d prefer the placard.
You’re on the honor system with this one. If you feel as if you deserve to park wherever you want for free all day long, then you’ll be able to get one.
It’s not hard.

Do you know how long you can park at these new SFPark meters? Like four hours, baby. Just pop in your credit card.
Do you know who appreciates that? Rich people, the demographically-desirable who drive BMW’s and Mercedes Benzeseses.
Here’s five in a row. Thanks SFPARK!

Here’s an exercise. Just as you can add “in bed” to your fortune cookie message, you can append the phrase “FOR RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS” to any statement from the horrible SFPark people from the horrible SFMTA. Like this:
“SFMTA established SFpark to use new technologies and policies to improve parking in San Francisco FOR RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS. Reducing traffic by helping RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS find parking benefits RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS. More parking availability makes streets less congested FOR RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS. Meters that accept credit and debit cards FROM RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS reduce frustration and parking citations FOR RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS. With SFpark, RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS can all circle less and live more.
SFpark works by collecting and distributing real-time information about where parking is available so RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS can quickly find open spaces.
To help achieve the right level of parking availability FOR RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS, SFpark periodically adjusts meter and garage pricing up and down to match demand FROM RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS. Demand-responsive pricing encourages drivers to park in underused areas and garages, reducing demand (FROM POOR PEOPLE, THE 99%, THOSE FUCKERS) in overused (OVERUSED BY WHOM? BY POOR PEOPLE, THE 99%, THOSE FUCKERS) areas.
Through SFpark, real-time data and demand-responsive pricing work together to readjust parking patterns in the City so that parking is easier to find FOR RICH PEOPLE WITH MERCEDES AND BMW CARS”
On It Goes…
SFPark: “Let us “manage” your parking the same way we manage MUNI!”
SFPark: “Parking meters everywhere (eventually, including the entire Sunset District!) and for all (except for the specific whites of Pacific Heights). Hurray!”

Last weekend’s Fall Luxury Chocolate Salon at Fort Mason was smaller than the one we had in earlier this year, but, nevertheless, a huge success anyway.
You had to wait your turn but there were free samples galore for all attendees.

This Porsche Cayenne, a straight-out-of-Leipzig, “five-seat, mid-size luxury sport utility vehicle,” might seem a little odd as the choice for an Ace Hardware company car, but there you go. If only it were a $125k Turbo S model…
