How the San Francisco Giants are LYING When They Say “Ticket Scalping is Illegal” in San Francisco

Friday, October 24th, 2014

C’mon focus, look at the sign, as seen this morning by Stanley Roberts of People Behaving Badly and KRON-TV

Now it could be that this is what the San Francisco Giants organization wishes Police Code Section 869 would say, but this aint what it says.

Comes now SF Weekly writer Joe Eskenazi:

“…according to the police code cited on the sign (Good Ol’ No. 869) scalping is not strictly illegal: This is a code that prohibits folks from selling wares on the street without a peddlers’ permit. This means folks who sell their tickets online or out of their homes or offices are not violating the law. And your humble narrator was unable to find anything within the police code stating that people who buy wares from unlicensed peddlers are subject to arrest…”

So, Giants, why don’t you take these signs down, or change them?

Here’s One Way, Just One Way, That San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee Can Get Out of that Perjury Thing with Christina Olague

Monday, July 2nd, 2012

Leave us begin:

Mayor Lee, before you decided to file charges for misconduct here, did you talk to any members of the Board of Supervisors about whether or not you should do so?” Kopp asked.

“I did not,” Lee replied.

Minutes later, a bomb threat delayed the hearing for nearly two hours.”

Now, of course Debra Walker could be lying or she could be confused or what have you.

BUT I DON’T THINK SO!

I’m srsly.

So what are we left with?

How about this? What if Mayor Ed Lee discussed Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi with so-called Progressive Supervisor Christina Olague after he decided to file charges.*

See how that works? (Something like, “Oh yeah, I was just patronizing her, trying to make her feel good by asking for advice.”)

And there are three or four other explanations I can think of that would similarly keep Ed Lee out of the clink.

Even though he’s lying.

Now, let’s hear from appointed Supervisor Christina Olague. What would she have had to say, if she hadn’t gotten all flummoxed and, you know, run off to hide in her office?

Either:

1. I may be slow,* but I’m ahead of you; or

2. RUN ED RUN!

You Make The Call.

*You know, assuming that he wasn’t previously nailed down on the exact moment he decided to file charges.

**Indeed, the least intelligent*** Supervisor we’ve got these days.

Fog City Journal Editorial: “Is Ed Lee Beginning to Look Like a Typical Lying Politician?” – Ouch

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

Yesterday’s editorial from our Fog City Journal starts out like this:

“FCJ Editorial

July 20, 2011

When Mayor Ed Lee accepted the job as interim mayor in January, it was understood by the Board of Supervisors that he would not run for a full term. In fact, his promise of not running for a full term was the reason why the Board elevated a reluctant Lee to what was understood to be a caretaker position, to complete Gavin Newsom’s term as mayor.

Since his nomination, Lee has been asked on numerous occasions whether he would run and each time he has remained steadfastly unequivocal: he is a man of his word and will not run.

“I have been unequivocal like I am standing in front of you,” Lee said over a month ago when FCJ asked him if he remains unequivocal about not running. “I do feel some pressure these days and it’s like I am constantly getting those questions… there’s just so many people talking to me and I just have to keep warding them off.”

Today, the San Francisco Chronicle reports a shift in Lee’s response…”

Uh oh.
