Mark “Papa” Guardado, President of the Hells Angels’ San Francisco chapter, was killed in the Mission District on September 2nd. Tomorrow’s funeral should be well-attended.
The vigil will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. and a funeral Monday at 10 a.m. at Duggan’s Serra Mortuaryat 500 Westlake Ave. in Daly City, with interment to follow at Cypress Lawn cemetery in Colma. The two-wheeled funeral procession could be the largest in Bay Area history.

The Guardian Angels were on patrol in this area over the weekend and there are extra police around as well.
Let’s hope for a peaceful day tomorrow.

When they’re not eating flowers, the Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill like to fly around San Francisco in big flocks.

Wild parrots above the KPIX-TV building on Battery Street and also near 202 Green Street, where Philo T. Farnsworth invented television a while back.
Some people are afraid of these red masked conures, but others would like them to become the state bird of California instead of the Valley Quail. We have some quail in San Francisco as well, but not all that many.
Will the Parrot cell phone-accessory company be able to change our state bird from quail to parrot?
Only Time Will Tell.

San Francisco’s famous wild parrots have spread out a bit lately, so they’re easier to spot these days.
Watch them eating springtime blossoms (cherry? plum?). You can listen to them also. And of course, you can read all about them.

Mmmmm…, flowers.

The Marin Independent Journal is trying to do the best it can in this Internet Age. That means putting content online and maybe allowing for a reader poll on some topic of the day.
Last week, IJ editor/writer Brad Breithaupt wrote a piece about the sprawling 3rd Senate District involving “incumbent Senator Carole Migden and her two challengers, Assemblyman Mark Leno and former [A]ssemblyman Joe Nation.”
Readers were allowed to cast their vote for whomever they favored until someone at the IJ cancelled it. Why? Check it:
“Due to suspected ballot-box stuffing, results of the poll will not appear. You dirty rascals!”
Thusly:

Appears is if more than one person repeatedly voted for a particular candidate and, so much so, the results got all screwy. Apparently, “cookies” were involved.
Now, who would do such a thing? (If only Marin County had its own Matier and Ross to get to the bottom of this!)
Can’t we all get along?
