Sixteen months ago:
“Prospective Twitter Landlord Gave Newsom Rent Deal“
Today:
“Here it is- the first run of the new “twitter line”. Guess how many people on board?! pic.twitter.com/YSezC2GF“
From the CalTrain Station to Twitter and back again

So the lesson is this: If you have influence with former Mayor Gavin Newsom and he thinks you can help him fulfill his dream of becoming President of these United States, then maybe you’ll get your own bus line.
Hurray.
Oh, and do you think that this M-F bus line will cost less to operate than it costs to employ just one MUNI employee?
I don’t. But that’s what MUNI is saying…

This is a little unusual, but that’s what you’ve got to expect from peds on Market Street.
You see, she wasn’t crossing yet, she was just standing around waiting for her light to turn green. It was like she thought she was on an invisible bulb-out:

Well, today’s Alamo Square Flea Market and Indie Mart attracted thousands to the Western Addition today.
Of all the crap you could buy, used clothing* to be the number one seller. At the other end of the spectrum, you’d find a a few CRT* TV’s for sale.
Check it. Here’s the north side of A.S.:

Here’s the west si-iiide featuring the Westerfeld House, aka the Russian Embassy from Tom Wolfe’s Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test.
“Up at Fulton and Scott is a great shambling old Gothic house, a freaking decayed giant, known as The Russian Embassy”

Und der Süden:

The raffle board is a who’s who of local bidnesses:

See you next year!
*Nobody wants your aging boxy CRT TV. My hefty early-1990′s Sony Trinitron is worth maybe ten cents a pound these days but only because it still works flawlessly. When it finally gives up its ghost, it will be worth negative dollars, it will be a liability. Really, it’s unsellable, regardless of whether it works or not.
**I’d seal my haul in plastic bags and let it all sit for weeks (preferably in the freezer, if feasible), but that’s just me. Bedbugs sometimes attend those flea markets, of course…
