See these guys? They’re like twins!

Oh, but there is a difference. Only one of these twins can tell you the exact make and model of the “product” in his hair – the other one has more important things to worry about in Life. Let’s ask to make sure. Which one of these Vanilla Ices said this when asked about hair care?

L’Oreal. And it’s the Clean Gel. It’s the Total Control Clean Gel, because they’ve got seven or eight products, and the other ones don’t work.”

O.K. fine.

Hey, what’s that product that you put in your slick, shiny hair?

Gaia Bless Writer John King – Protecting San Francisco From Larry Ellison and the Organizers of America’s Cup 2013

Monday, November 7th, 2011

San Francisco Chronicle Urban Design Writer John King was in fine form over the weekend:

“They know how to win a regatta. Soon, we’ll learn if organizers of the 2013 America’s Cup also know how to keep legitimate concerns from becoming full-scale controversies.

If they don’t, a huge project with a rare degree of support in San Francisco could find itself the target of sniping by second-guessers from all sides. The event organizers also could find themselves scrambling for permits as the clock ticks down in a time frame that leaves no room for error.

That’s why it makes sense to make a few concessions early – such as Cup officials clearly stating that they will not seek to build marinas along the downtown waterfront after the conclusion of the summer-long sailing spectacle.”

Is there anyone left in town who thinks that former Mayor Gavin Newsom did a good job negotiating the America’s Cup agreement? Or, at this point, even an average job? Not to my knowledge.

So our Road to AC13 will be full of nails and garbage pails – of that you can be certain. But it’s nice having John King around to mind the store, in’nt?

Huge Turnout at San Francisco’s Newest Job Center – Is There One in Your Area?

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Why, yes. Yes there is, and it’s specifically designed to lift people out of poverty. Wouldn’t you, or your friends, or your relatives like to work for Safeway, Andronico’s Markets, Novartis, AT&T, IKEA, UPS, Federal Express, Kaiser Permanente, Bio-Rad Laboratories, or Comcast? What’s that – you don’t need a Rubicon Programs, Inc. one-stop job center ’cause you have all the stuff it offers at home? Maybe, but you should check it out just the same when you can. (See info below.)

And that’s what people were doing today in the Western A. Hundreds were on hand in the wet weather to witness San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, District 5 Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi, and Mistress of Ceromonies Barbara Rodgers (“I wasn’t fired [from CBS5 last year], I quit!“) kick off the new center.
