Newsflash: Obama is a Lefty! Why are so many U.S. Presidents Left-Handed?

Friday, July 11th, 2008

This was the scene at famous Pier 39 in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf the other day. Barack Obama has a new T-shirt.

But what’s that, John McCain is left-handed as well? And Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton?

That means four out the last six U.S. presidents be lefties. And, as of next year, the stat will be five out the last seven presidents. That’s 71%, or a rate ten times higher than what you’d expect.

How Well Will You Do Taking the Bush-McCain Challenge?

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

News of the Day: Republican John McCain is getting a little tired of being compared with President George W. Bush all the time:

“You will hear from my opponent’s campaign in every speech, every interview, every press release that I’m running for President Bush’s third term. You will hear every policy of the president described as the Bush-McCain policy. Why does Senator Obama believe it’s so important to repeat that idea over and over again?”

People at last week’s Union Street Festival (aka “Eco-Urban Festival”, aka BoozeFest ’08) had a chance to examine the differences between Bush and McCain firsthand. Check it:

Thanks to the Internets, you can take the Bush-McCain Challenge yourself right now. It’s tough! For example, the first query is:

Who promised that U.S. troops would be greeted as “liberators” in Iraq?

People at the neighboring Republican Party ironing board recruiting center (seen in background with the blue balloon) might think this push poll a tad unfair. What do you think?
