You know, San Francisco is the most corrupt large city west of Chicago, probably, but you wouldn’t know it by solely looking at paramedic response in the 415. I’ve never seen dysfunction from this part of the “City Family.”

On November 24, 2011 at 2:45 AM, an attempted homicide occurred on the corner of 9th Ave/Geary. Prior to the incident the victim and suspect got into a physical altercation inside of a restaurant on the corner of 11th Ave/Geary in San Francisco. Both victim and suspect were eventually separated and left the restaurant. The victim then walked to a gas station located on 9th Ave/Geary. The suspect described as a mixed race or Latin male, 18-24 years old, with short black hair and a manicured beard was then seen getting into the pictured vehicle listed below and drove off.
The suspect then drove his vehicle, described as a black Mazda CX type SUV with possible front end damage, and twelve spoke sports rims into the gas station on 9th/Geary and intentionally struck the victim. The suspect fled the scene. Witnesses to the fight took photos of the suspect at the time of the fight. The victim received life threatening injuries due to being struck by the suspect vehicle.
San Francisco Police Criminal Investigations Unit is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in this attempted homicide. Witnesses or persons with information are asked to call the anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or “Text-a-Tip” at TIP411 from their cell phones. Please include “SFPD’ in the beginning of the text message.”

“This IS the legendary Jack-n-the-Box of SF! That’s right.. open 24 hours baby.. and with PARKING. Now if the SFPD were smart, they’d put a squad car here at midnight..because only after you’ve finished drinking your 5th pint does a couple of Jumbo Jack with extra mayo and with the burger drowned in ketchup actually sound tasty.
I remember when I used to come here late at night. It’s like a rainbow coalition meeting. You have your clubbers, pub crawlers, homeless and 3rd shifters getting their Jack on. Since the inside is small we were all elbow to elbow forced into a temporary bonding moment that even would make Martin Luther King smile as he watched his dream come true.
But that dream was crushed as they have started to lock their doors after 10pm. That’s right folks.. you are now limited to ordering through a walk-thru. If you haven’t seen the walk-thru it’s a contraption that relies on “The Cube” where you put your money through.”

“Police Chief Greg Suhr came to the crime scene. He will hold a community meeting about the incident Tuesday at the Richmond Recreation Center at 251 18th Ave. The meeting is set for [October 4th, 2011 at] 6:30 p.m.“
This is the now-standard community meeting that’s been promised for each and every SFPD officer-involved shooting.
And, per Eric Mar‘s office, our District One Supervisor will be on hand to ask and answer questions.

"Dear Neighbors,
Please join me in attending a Police Community meeting tonight. Yesterday morning at 7:30am, Richmond Station officers responded to a call of a stabbing on the 600 block of Funston Street. Officers encountered a wounded victim outside the home and was told the suspect was still inside. As they entered the home they found an elderly woman with life threatening injuries and began to render aid. The suspect, armed with two knives charged at the officers and an Officer Involved Shooting occurred. The incident is being investigated. Both the elderly woman and the suspect died from their injuries.
A community meeting will be held tonight, October 4, 2011, and Police Chief Greg Suhr will address concerns and answer questions about the incident. The meeting will be held at the Richmond Rec Center located at 251 18th Avenue, between California and Clement Sts at 6:30pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2011.

“Officer Involved Shooting at the 600 blk of Funston Ave.

On October 3, 2011 at approximately 7:18 a.m., San Francisco Police responded to a call of a stabbing at the 600 block of Funston Ave. Officers and paramedics arrived on the scene and discovered a 78 year old Chinese male victim in front of the residence bleeding profusely. The victim suffered a stab wound to his hand and forearm.
Officers and paramedics immediately rendered medical aid in attempt to control the bleeding. The officers continued up the stairway where they found a 78 year old Chinese female victim with what the officers believed to be life threatening stab wounds to the body. As officers were trying to pull the victim to safety and get medical treatment for the female victim, they were confronted by a 44 year old Chinese male suspect.
The suspect had two knives as he advanced towards the officers. One officer used an Extended Range Impact Weapon (ERIW) in an effort to subdue the suspect. The ERIW proved to be ineffective. A cover officer discharged his firearm on the advancing suspect and stopped the deadly threat. Officers continued to search the house for additional suspects and victims and found a 50 year old Chinese female hiding in the back of the house inside a locked bedroom, she was uninjured.
All victims and suspect are related. The suspect was the son of both 78 year old victims, and the uninjured female found by officers at the scene, was the sister of the suspect.
At approximately, 9:39 a.m. the suspect was pronounced dead at the hospital. The 78 year old female victim was also pronounced dead a few minutes later at the hospital at 9:41 a.m
This is an active ongoing police investigation by the San Francisco Police Department’s Homicide Detail, Internal Affairs Division, District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of Citizens Complaints.
There will be a community meeting pertaining to the officer involved shooting tomorrow, October 4, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. Location will be at the Richmond Recreational Center at 251 18th Ave between Clement and California.”

Is Chief Suhr going to call for a community meeting with District One Supervisor Eric Mar? (Apparently, it’s his policy* to do that kind of thing after each SFPD officer-involved shooting, whether it’s needed or not.)
*You know who could use that policy? The BART Police, that’s who.**

Now I don’t know what these NIMBYs paid for that sign but I’d imagine something like hundreds of dollars. Most passersby weren’t aware of it, cause of how and where it’s hung. But go to the northeast corner of the parking lot and then look northeast and you’ll be sure to find it. (WF employees were doing just that yesterday afternoon, having a laugh.)

Now, I’ll tell you, the parking lot at this Whole Foods fills up with regularity, cause it’s too small. (And that’s just the way “the neighbors” or the Planning Department or somebody wanted it to be. By design.) So I don’t know how the people who wanted a small parking lot have the right to complain about a small parking lot. Anyway, the way Trader Joes Masonic handled the parking issue was to take over parking spaces on the right side of southbound Masonic in partnership with the City. (I mean, first you’ve got to exist, and then you can address the issues what pop up, that’s how you’ve got to do it.)
The parking lot attendants at this particular WF will direct shoppers into non-existent spots in front of the store, you know, in order to pack the largest number of cars into the lot. Of course there are signs telling drivers not to block Stanyan, but nobody pays attention to them.
We’ll just have to wait to see how this one turns out.

o Additionally, we had the Department of Public Health Environmental Services come back out to re-test and ensure we were operating within the legal limits
While the adjustment to any new neighbor may take some time, we truly hope we can peacefully co-exist with our neighbors in the Haight”
